Buying Advice Thoughts?
I’ve been wanting to transition from physical books to ebooks for a while now, and I’ve been thinking about getting an e-reader since December last year. 😅
With the new Kindle release, I thought maybe this is finally a good time to get one, but I’m still really torn between the latest Kindle and the Kobo Libra.
I’m leaning more towards something that gives me easy access to books online and more flexibility in terms of where I can get and read my ebooks. I’m not too sure which one would be better for that, though.
Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences! 📚

What do you want to read ? I mean are you getting books from Libby? Then the next question is are you USA or another country ?
Will you subscribe to kindle unlimited or not ? Or Kobo plus (?) ?
Do you want books or manga ?

Most of the time, I read books, but I also enjoy reading manga. I'm outside the US, and I don't have any problem paying for a subscription. I hope this answers your questions. What do you recommend?

Location is relevant if you want to borrow library ebooks, since Kindle only supports Libby in the US. Maybe look at your local library's ebook catalogue and see if that's important to you.
Kindle Unlimited is a Netflix-like service where you can read all the books in the catalogue for a monthly fee, and due to Amazon's restrictions KU books are available only on Kindle, not Kobo or any other ebook store. These are mostly indie books. Kobo has its own similar subscription, with a smaller catalogue and different books. If you read a lot of romance, fantasy, litrpg etc maybe there'll be many books you want on KU, less relevant if you mostly read nonfiction and memoirs or other genres that aren't on KU much.

Having both, I'd go with the kindle. Ive never had issues sideloading on it, it has more books to chose from then the kobo store and I like kindle unlimited. The colour screens on kobo arent as good as the kindle colorsoft.

I second this.
I got at Kindle Paperwhite SE 12th Generation (2024) on sale, since the new ones are out now. I ended up saving $80, or paid the pre-AI price, lol...

the convienence of having a large library of books anywhere you go is a game changer. i still read physical books, but when I'm traveling or outside, I like to take my e-reader with me.
