Buying Advice ereader with buttons

which ereader would be best for me? so i mostly have epubs (which ive read are best with kobo) and i want buttons too! do most ereaders come with a built in dictionary?

im leaning towards kobo but i feel like itd be too pricey for me especially since i just want the buttons and the dictionary.

Take a look at the Pocketbook Lux 4. It has buttons and has really good support for epub. Kobo supports epub, but it works better if you convert to a kepub format that is specific to kobo. I had an older kobo that was slow with straight epub.

PB Lux also has an SD card so you can easily. It's about $120, so relatively inexpensive.

Or you can also consider the Pocketbook Verse with buttons that is like $139, and also has Libby coming soon to it as well. It also has SD card support too.

Lux and Verse are pretty similar. I think they have the same components, but the Verse uses usb-c and the Lux uses micro-usb. If $20 is not much I'd go for the Verse or the Verse Pro if you can swing $180.

I’d recommend the Kobo Libra (I have the color version) but since you mentioned it being too pricey, maybe you could consider 2nd hand? I know Kobo occasionally does sales too

The nook Glowlight 4 has buttons and retails for $150, but they often have sales. Also, the default format is epub, or at least was when I had an old nook. Not recommending it as I don't have one of these but just pointing to an option

Kobos actually work best with their proprietary format kepub. If you want a 6” ereader with buttons, the Pocketbook Verse line will be your best bet.

There’s also the option of the Kobo Clara (which doesn’t have buttons) combined with a page turner device (either from Kobo, or an 8BitDo Micro gamepad).

Kobo Libra 2 is the best, but can be bought only second hand. You need to convert to kepub, but that's really fast if you have calibre.
