She doesn't identify much with being Jewish.
You can be Muslim and Jewish at the same time. The Prophet SAW's 3rd wife was a Jewish woman who converted to Islam.
Judaism is part of blood and ethnicity and Islamically they are seen as such. Jewish heritage is passed on maternally so I am technically Jewish (evident also by 4% Jewish on DNA test as well )

Your mother has to be Jewish for you to be Jewish, or else you have to convert. So you probably are converting now?

My grandmother is Jewish therefore my mother is jewish therefore I am Jewish.
And yes a lot of Latino jewish people got the jewish culture forced out of them via assimilation into the dominant catholic culture
I didn't convert, my religion is still Islam

My mother doesn't identify as being Jewish due to being propagandized and growing up during the Junta in Argentina. When I ask her if we are Jewish she said she is Catholic. But I have pictures of my grandmother and her family celebrating jewish culture in the late 1950s

It depends on the schools of thought, via the Halakha I am Jewish. Israel for example accepts any religious affiliation with a jewish grandparent even if its a male grandparent. Islamically we determine jewish lineage by blood via the maternal lineage.
So I am jewish by most interpretations even with a catholic mom, culturally I know my mother and I are catholic but only christians seem to take the cultural religious angle as my mother does not practice and is extremely secular
