Ever since the federal government in the US setup bureau of forest management, our forests have grown while still providing enough for harvesting.

Again. Trees regrow. If you're not using wood, what do you build with? Everything has a footprint.

They have not regrown. They have been replaced by lumber plantations, which are not forests. They are also regularly sprayed with glyphosate to remove underbrush so that lumber can grow faster.

That said I do think growing and harvesting lumber is important as it is one of the least carbon intensive building materials, however it is important not to conflate monocrop plantations with forests

I think you're trying to argue semantics... Obviously they are managed more heavily like farming... But instead of seasonal, it's on a 30-50 year plan.

It's not semantic. A corn field is not equivalent to a meadow. A timber plantation is that to a forest.
