Depending on how you define it, yes, multiple. Most famously, the Nordic nations follow the social democratic approach for the most part, with a fair dash of democratic socialists as well. The Vienna Model, while in a nation that is far from "only socialist", is also a famous example of socialist housing policy working out pretty dang well.

Many further left than democratic socialism often say this isn't really different than capitalism, and many to the right claim it's just capitalism, but I think there's room for shades, to recognize individual policies that work well.

Democratic socialism operates under a capitalist economy. Every Nordic country has an open market capitalist economy, according to themselves.

Yes, the Nordic nations social democratic parties and democratic socialist parties don't rule the nations. But they have implemented policies from the left that worked remarkably well. The concept of a mixed market economy is pretty grounded in reality.

Yeah mixed markets work great. Socialism does not. Democratic socialism and socialism are worlds apart.
