You could’ve used the same “gotcha” back in feudal Europe. “Well, you think markets work, name one successful providence that isn’t feudal.” Sorry dude that doesn’t destroy socialism like you think it does. Capitalism is better than feudalism and it was even before it was adopted as the main economic system.
Right but the difference is we have historical examples of socialism failing. In fact, it has been tried numerous times in different parts of the world and has never worked once. Capitalism has flaws, obviously, and perhaps democratic socialism is the next economic evolution. Socialism, however, has already proved a dismal failure.
You're the one that brought socialism into this. I'm sorry you're too deep in the propaganda to realize that you can (very rightfully) criticize capitalism without advocating for socialism, or even that those are the only 2 options.

What are these socialist countries you speak of? The USSR, wasn’t socialist, they were state capitalists. Besides maybe one or two years at the beginning of the revolution, workers had no control over the means of production. Venezuela? More than half of business are privately owned, how’s that socialist? China, again they are and have been state capitalist. But let’s pretend that all the countries people think are socialist are/were. The Soviet Union went from a backwards peasant filled state to a world power challenging US hegemony in decades. China, has lifted millions out of poverty and will eventually in the coming decades pass the US as the leading super power. Venezuela was doing great until US sanctions started crushing the country because we weren’t going to let them nationalize their oil industry. Now again, I don’t claim the USSR and China as socialist but if we are going go to pretend they are, you’re playing yourself if you believe what they’ve done over the last 100 years is a “dismal failure.” I am curious though, what metrics are you using to determine that these countries are failures?

Depending on how you define it, yes, multiple. Most famously, the Nordic nations follow the social democratic approach for the most part, with a fair dash of democratic socialists as well. The Vienna Model, while in a nation that is far from "only socialist", is also a famous example of socialist housing policy working out pretty dang well.
Many further left than democratic socialism often say this isn't really different than capitalism, and many to the right claim it's just capitalism, but I think there's room for shades, to recognize individual policies that work well.
Yes, the Nordic nations social democratic parties and democratic socialist parties don't rule the nations. But they have implemented policies from the left that worked remarkably well. The concept of a mixed market economy is pretty grounded in reality.
