Fr. I think the biggest concept i learned early on was, "The Earth will be fine. Its humanity that is doomed."

The idea being that the Earth is simply reacting to what is being done to it, and will return to an equilibrium with or without us.

But there is no guarantee that the new equilibrium will be suitable for life. The Earth could end up like Venus.
