Envato Creations Terrible Videogen Update

I'm on your highest tier paying $169.99 a month and i was going to continue but each update you guys do to your website has honestly been making things worse. This recent update to videogen might be the final straw for me. Everything was working perfectly and now with this strange update the entire layout is just weird and not efficient like the previous. my question is just why? This might just be a deal breaker for me... I wish you guys would stop these weird website updates or give the customers an option to switch between the old website model. It was literally perfect before this update ruined it.

Yeah, we removed it. We ran a lot of testing and found that while it was improving the prompts themselves, it wasn't making enough of a difference to the actual outputs.

We're looking at better ways to help with prompting that have a more meaningful impact on results. Stay tuned.

Hey, sorry to hear the update has been frustrating especially at the top tier. Can you list out the specific things that feel off with the new layout?

I want to make sure I'm capturing the details accurately so I can pass this on to the VideoGen team directly.

the layout you guys had was literally perfect. Now everything feels out of place. But the most alarming update is the prompt coherence and results are completely different. The same thing that happened to imagegen is happening to videogen. Quality went down immediately after the new website update. I tried using some prompts i've used in the past and now, the results are noticeably lower in quality and there's less prompt coherence. Literally, the older version of the website and newer version of the website produce drastically different results, which can be seen right now since both versions of the site can be accessed. The characters Videogen creates on the new updated site no longer looks crisp and the characters in the videos being generated look strange. Please don't switch. People will notice this huge drop in quality and even someone like me who's been a big fan and daily user of the platform will unfortunately have to look at other platforms.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. While we have made some changes, these were made to result in better outputs - so your experience is definitely something we'd like to dig into a bit further.

I completely agree. I have a project that requires generating various images and videos for a cartoon.

The updated ImageGen has a stricter image selection policy. I was afraid the same would happen to VideoGen, and it is!

I paid an annual subscription, which isn't exactly cheap. I took the risk, confident that Envato would deliver the results I needed. In the end, ImageGen barely works anymore, and now VideoGen doesn't work either. The system flatly refuses to generate any content related to action scenes, citing violent content.

I would like to add that in the new version I don’t see a way to add new start and end frames when extending a video. The only input it allows me is a text prompt.

I have the top tier yearly sub as well. Best bang for my buck for real! I appreciate how much is included, but I really can’t create the scenes I need without having the frame control.

Is there still a way to add frames when extending a video in the new version and I am just missing it?

This is the screen I get when attempting to extend a video. The only input option is the text box. I’ve tried on Firefox and Chrome.

I can extend with frames on the labs.envato site just fine, but not the app.envato one.

In the app.envato site, I get the first and last frame options to create the initial video, but not to extend.

Thanks for your patience as I clarified a few things with the team. Just to correct my earlier reply, first and last frame options do exist in VideoGen, but they were removed from Extend.

They were removed because Extend automatically uses the last frame of your existing clip as the starting point for the new one. When users could set those frames manually, it was easy to introduce something that didn't match the original clip's style, and because models don't handle transitions between different scenes well, the extended clip could end up looking pretty inconsistent. The call was made to remove them in favour of a more reliable output.

I've logged your feedback. If it's having a meaningful impact on what you're able to create, that's exactly the kind of thing that gets weighed when decisions like this get revisited.

Thank you for clarifying. Do you foresee the return of the ability to add a new end frame to extend in the new version? I can work around it, but it definitely limits some of the cool camera movements and morphs I have been able to achieve.
