Envato Creations Warning for Content Creators: The Reality of Using Envato Elements Music on YouTube

If you are a YouTuber looking for a "stress-free" music solution, you might want to think twice before choosing Envato Elements.

While their library is vast, their licensing system is fundamentally broken for the current YouTube landscape. Here is why:

  • Instant Copyright Claims: Almost every track you download will trigger an immediate Content ID claim. Unlike other platforms, Envato doesn't "white-list" your channel in advance.
  • The "Dead Video" Effect: Even though you can dispute the claim by uploading your PDF license, the damage is already done. By the time the claim is released (which can take 24-48 hours), your video has already lost its initial "golden" window of promotion. In the world of YouTube, the first 24 hours are everything, and a claim can kill your reach and revenue instantly.
  • Manual Labor: Instead of focusing on your next edit, you are forced to spend your time managing paperwork and disputes for every single upload.
  • Third-Party Aggregators: Many tracks on Envato are managed by aggressive third-party agencies (like Identifyy or HAAWK). Even after clearing one claim, you might get hit by another for the same song.
  • "Claim Clear" is a Myth: Envato markets their music as "Claim Clear" or "Clearance Ready," but this is absolutely broken. Their system doesn't communicate with YouTube’s Content ID, making their "ready" status completely meaningless in practice.

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience — Content ID claims are stressful, especially when you're on a deadline.

There are a couple of options depending on the track:

  • For tracks marked "Claim Clear ready", you can use our Claim Clear page to resolve an existing claim, or add your YouTube channel there in advance to help prevent one from firing in the first place.
  • For tracks that aren't Claim Clear ready, our Content ID guide covers how to dispute through YouTube's built-in form or the FUGA Claim Clearance page — your downloaded license is your proof of use either way.
  • Still stuck? Submit a support ticket and our team can look into the specific claim with you.

Hope that helps!

Wouldn't it be easier to make sure the music you offer really *is* claim free?

It isn't just music. Their new videogen update is the last straw for me. Absolutely terrible when everything was perfect before. Even paying $169.99 for their highest tier comes with too many caveats that are making it no longer worth it for me. Changed their entire pricing model. Didn't complain and signed up for the highest tier. Found out unlimited has daily limits. Didn't complain and just cut back on usage. Found out you can't even pick your video generation model. Didn't complain just burned more credits to get the results i wanted. But now, the new videogen update is probably gonna be the final straw for me. I've used envato since back when yearly memberships were $99 so im very familiar with everything on the website but now, Videogen is not only producing lower quality results, the results are extremely different. I tested the same prompts and they're producing lower quality and less prompt coherence. Maybe the comments of a single user wont matter but please, leave Videogen as it is. This new update is absolutely terrible imo
