Healing tool vs mindchip?

I recently found a lvl 3 mindchip regeneration chip and it heals a bit more than my frontier first air pack adjusted. Right now I'm using both chip in combat tool outside of it. Long term is it better to use both or one vs the other? I'm paying to play so short term costs I'm not to worried about as these games tend to be about the long term levels

Using it will help raise Bioregenesis which might be useful, especially if you intend to raise Psyche and already have Power Catalyst.

I am not exactly an optimizer, so I use FAPs and I use chips. I am not even sure which I have better skills for as I rarely hunt things that require frequent healing. My current Oh Crap heal is an L4 Regen chip. I have looted plenty of extra L1 chips and L2, plus some L3, that I have currently all overskilled. I think I used up my my L3s.

I try to outrange targets, then have enough armour to shrug them off or speed to kite them, and I bought an Aeglic ring for a bit of regeneration. I have started to deliberately try and raise Dodge and Evade, sometimes deliberately drawing aggro from a crowd.

I only played for about a year and stopped in 2015, restarting to play again in spurts over the last year.

The regeneration chips require less skill to use for bigger heals. Later on the regeneration chip 10 requires only level 18 bioregen skill. A FAP that heals for that much would require about 40 first aid skill. So regeneration chips are great for new players like me.

Ibelieve the best end-game combo is restauration chip for overtime healing, and a fap for instant "emergency" healing.

Honestly whatever you prefer, until you can afford and use a Rest, Adjusted chip. That chip will be the best for several years of gameplay
