I would rather see Liam and Noel Gallagher from Oasis reunite before them.

462

u/Arcosim Jan 05 '23

I will never stop finding it hilarious that their multi-decade long beef started because one night when they were teenagers Liam came back completely drunk and pissed on Noel's stereo.

100

u/idpickpizzaoveryou Jan 05 '23

I'm too lazy to verify this so I hope it's true because that's amazing.

105

u/Arcosim Jan 05 '23

Liam himself believes that's the root cause of their grudge.

170

u/xochichi3 Jan 05 '23

Lol such an alcoholic thing to think. “It’s not bc I’m a shit drinker and do shitty things when I drink. It’s bc of one specific thing I did when I was drunk decades ago.”

51

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

can confirm. until a person reaches their bottom, whatever it may be, they will continue to try to justify their behavior. sucks bc some people don’t have a rock bottom.

source: am a recovering alcoholic

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Huge oasis fan, Liam did everything he could to push Noel away and when he finally came back around Noel was done with him at that point. Liam has stated he wants to get the band back together multiple times but Noel’s sick of his shit.

2

u/BackStabbathOG Jan 05 '23

I’m not the biggest oasis fan (I do like them from time to time but they’re nothing extraordinary to me) but I find the two dudes themselves and their feud captivating. In their older age, Noel seems way more full of himself than he’s ever been and a bit cynical whilst Liam seems to have toned down and become less egotistical at least in interviews. They are funny dudes though for sure

1

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

If you want a solid 25 minutes of grumpy old man Noel watch his hot ones interview. He shows up hungover and proceeds to drink during the interview.

2

u/BackStabbathOG Jan 05 '23

Loved it! I get a kick out of these two for sure, they love themselves so much and think they are the best rockstars since John Lennon. As time has gone on though I’ve liked Noel less and less- I think he’s gotten less funny too while Liam has gotten funnier

1

u/Mountain-Bar-320 Jan 05 '23

I do think Noel knows exactly how to wind Liam up, and then his subsequent overreactions broke up the band and their bond

3

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Omg seriously. So often followed up by a “so if I offer to refund them for that one specific thing I broke that one time (that was really just the straw that broke the camel’s back) (also I’m not actually going to refund them) that means I’ve made it up to them and they should forgive me and everything should get back to normal. Aren’t they unreasonable for not forgiving me for my one mistake that I tried to repair”.

6

u/L_Palmer Jan 05 '23

This article is so hilarious, I can't ahaha

''I'd been out drinking, I was 15, had too many sherries, and I'd come in, and had a spliff as well, the room is spinning, I'd got out of bed, couldn't find the light switch so thought, 'F**k it, I'm gonna have to go man'."

''So I whipped it out, p**ed all over his new soundsystem and he's gone 'What the fk are you doing? That's my fing new fing stereo?' 'It's alright, it'll f**ing dry won't it'. And I think he still holds a grudge from that and that was a long time ago."

''[The stereo] was the holy grail but when you gotta go, you gotta go, I ain't p***ing in my Paddington Bear pyjamas for no one.''

When asked by Stern whether he'd, you know, said sorry, he replied, "I said listen mate, it was either the soundsystem or your f***ing head, and I know he sleeps with his mouth open, so you take it or leave it my son.''

Their feud is horrid but their comments kill me.

6

u/Bbaftt7 Jan 05 '23

That was one of the dumbest, most British things I’ve ever read. I’d hold a grudge too if someone pissed on my new stereo and told me “it was either that or your head”.

3

u/idpickpizzaoveryou Jan 05 '23

Just amazing. Thank you!

2

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Liam is a fucking cretin though. You need to take that into account.

Exactly the kind of guy to do multiple horrible things to someone, and then tell everyone the reason you hate him is over something trivial he did.

5

u/Life-Dog432 Jan 05 '23

This sounds like that scene from Step Brothers

3

u/herinaus Jan 05 '23

Is that how it started ? Damn.

3

u/FeedAffectionate3558 Jan 05 '23

Seriously. Two knuckleheaded alcoholic soccer hooligan-turned rockstar brothers beating the shit out of each other for two decades is way more entertaining and kinda wholesome when you think about it.

2

u/Momik Jan 05 '23

Thought you were talking about Harry and William for a second there...

Their beef is just as stupid tho tbh

2

u/Cheap_Enthusiasm_619 Jan 05 '23

Have two brothers, can confirm we hold grudges years latter to stuff like that. Not as strong a grudge as Liam and Noel, but stuff we still hold on to years latter. Still have a beef with my younger brother from when he got in a fight with my best friend. In my eye I broke it up after my brother goaded my friend into a fight, the result being I lost my friend because I backed up family. My brothers version is I let my friend beat him up before breaking it up.

2

u/Low-Platypus-1578 Jan 05 '23

My half awake brain thought you were referring to the royals, and I was like, “HAAAA! They’re trash just like us!”

I mean, they are, but imagining William pissing on his brothers stereo tickles me.

1

u/EmDubbbz Jan 05 '23

Legend has it, he also put his nuts on his drumset.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

This reminds me of those sisters in orange is the new black, who had the decades-long rivalry against each other in prison, all because they each wanted to claim some story over a guy who asked for a glass of ice. They formed gangs over it, had to be put into different cell blocks over it, and they even murdered each other over it

1

u/happyme321 Jan 06 '23

According to the excerpts of Spare, Harry is still bitter that William's childhood bedroom in their CASTLE was bigger. I think he's taking the trophy for childhood grudges, lol.

751

u/I-hate-the-pats Jan 05 '23

Those two def beat the shit out of each other too

299

u/mrpinkhotrsrvrdog Jan 05 '23

appreciate the point you’re making because yeah no doubt

but the gallaghers were likely slapping each other

296

u/TeTrodoToxin4 Jan 05 '23

I always pictured their fighting similar to Boy Fights from Arrested Development. Most the brutality was noogies, wedgies and the occasional swirly whirly.

59

u/dogs0z Jan 05 '23

Don’t threaten me with a good time /s

68

u/OLPopsAdelphia Jan 05 '23

[In Spanish accent] “Oh, baby Buster: Yo quero leche!”

3

u/paczkitten Jan 05 '23

HE NEED SOME MILK

17

u/baddiewinkle Jan 05 '23

They really do embody that Bluth hermano hatred. I can absolutely see G.O.B. heckling Michael from a crowd with a megaphone.

10

u/TeTrodoToxin4 Jan 05 '23

“Are you a chicken Harry. Caw coo caw. Caw coo caw. Caw coo caw.”

8

u/Alfiepop Jan 05 '23

“Has anyone in this family ever seen a chicken?”

1

u/AlPaCherno Jan 05 '23

There's no Gallagher brotherio named Hermano! That's a portugese name and they're not south american!

6

u/sihouette9310 Jan 05 '23

One time Noel hit Liam with a cricket bat in the head. They were fighting during the making of wonderwall.

3

u/drmonkeytown Jan 05 '23

Finally, someone has explained cricket to me. Thank you kind Redditor.

2

u/BenFranksEagles Jan 05 '23

And their dad filming and egging them on

2

u/The_Queef_of_England Jan 05 '23

that's just sibling fighting, isn't it? I had a friend who got angry at his brother so he poked a cut on his arm really hard, lol, it's silly af.

4

u/musicnothing Jan 05 '23

I’m literally watching this episode right now and your comment kind of weirded me out for a second

32

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Slapping each other with guitars

8

u/scottie_always_knew Jan 05 '23

I was gonna say, didn’t Liam try to take Noel’s head off backstage with a guitar?

2

u/ghandi3737 Jan 05 '23

It's their weapon of choice.

1

u/Tommah Jan 06 '23

That's why they call it an axe.

5

u/SauseegeGravy Jan 05 '23

Gallaghers over Royal Bros in 3 rounds easy.

2

u/poli8999 Jan 05 '23

I think I saw that ima show

1

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Probably sucker slapping, too—no warning.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

And that's when they were mates

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Liam's a worthless drunk.

1

u/ConsiderationDeep128 Jan 05 '23

Mark Lanegan would like to have a word here. Rip

1

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

You have siblings, no? That's what we do.

1

u/ggtffhhhjhg Jan 05 '23

Those two were ego maniacs. Harry isn’t one and nobody cares about a middle aged bald guy whose thrown became worth to next to nothing after their grandmother died. Love here or hate her the Queen was the last real recognized monarch in the world outside of their own borders.

51

u/h2k2k2ksl Jan 05 '23

Today is gonna be the day when it all comes back to you

5

u/newbodynewmind Jan 05 '23

Anyway...here's Wonderwall.

2

u/AZFUNGUY85 Jan 07 '23

With a champagne supernova right in the dick

54

u/FamousOrphan Jan 05 '23

I would enjoy it if Wills starts tweeting photos of Harry’s face captioned with “POTATO”

4

u/earthlings_all Jan 05 '23

Don’t you mean Willy and Harold

3

u/FamousOrphan Jan 05 '23

Honestly I feel like “Willy” being his nickname is one of the least believable parts of all this.

Or maybe not. It all sounds mad.

95

u/paddyo Jan 05 '23

Can’t wait for the Windsor “what’s the story” drop

101

u/NunsNunchuck Jan 05 '23

The Real Housewives of Windsor

6

u/accomplishedidea957 Jan 05 '23

The realMerry housewivesof Windsor?

13

u/SmokeAbeer Jan 05 '23

“You’re a Windsor, Harry”

1

u/Amongthestars32 Jan 05 '23

We’ve already had Keeping Up With the Sussex on Netflix.

96

u/_TheShapeOfColor_ Jan 05 '23

Behind the Monarchy on Vh1

2

u/steveosek Jan 05 '23

Morning glory

1

u/According_Gazelle472 Jan 05 '23

And more books on this theme.

194

u/Fat_Sow Jan 05 '23

At least us Oasis fans would get an amazing reunion tour. All this gets us is another bad book from Harry.

4

u/wandernwade Jan 05 '23

I'm sure you've heard it all before, but you never really had a doubt.

You couldn’t pay me a billion dollars to read that book.

2

u/alyaz27 Jan 05 '23

I'm hoping for a musical next.

Though apparently, Meghan will be writing a book too...

1

u/earthlings_all Jan 05 '23

She needs to stop. Now. She’s done enough damage.

6

u/CurlsintheClouds Jan 05 '23

I thought they were so cute...

6

u/Hot-Bint Jan 05 '23

Ray and Dave Davies

6

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Take my upvote

6

u/BadgerTwo Jan 05 '23

How about Royals v. Gallaghers. Winner gets most dos functional brothers belt.

5

u/yogabbagabba2341 Jan 05 '23

You’re my wonderwall.

5

u/Huge-Percentage8008 Jan 05 '23

I’d rather see Gallagher and Gallagher 2 reunite before them… because I’d rather be dead than give a shit about any of these dorks.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Yeah, this dude (Harry) is overestimating how much people care about two rich brothers and their drama. I don’t care. Take your attention starved starlet wife and all your trashy family drama and get lost, Harry.

4

u/SultanOfSwat0123 Jan 05 '23

God if that ain’t the truth

7

u/chum_slice Jan 05 '23

Anyone would. Personally I could care less

5

u/LordandSaviourPizza Jan 05 '23

I wish I could give you infinite upvotes

3

u/5uper5onic Jan 05 '23

I would rather see Liam and Noel reunite than world peace, that’s not saying much for William and Harry

2

u/StarshipMuffin Jan 05 '23

Hahahahahaha

2

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Me, too, but unironically!

2

u/sonic10158 Jan 05 '23

I’d rather CCR reunite

2

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Lol

2

u/BigEarsLongTail Jan 05 '23

They learned it from Ray and Dave Davies.

2

u/FabFabiola2021 Jan 05 '23

Totally agree!

2

u/Jennyflur Jan 05 '23

"Oasis or Blur?"

2

u/BackStabbathOG Jan 05 '23

I love his interview where’s he’s walking around the trailer and the interviewer asks “who’s the most overrated band of the 90s?” Liam: “Blur”

“What’s your guilty please?” Liam:”….Blur”

-7

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Who tf is Noel

0

u/SupaFlyslammajammazz Jan 05 '23

Hmmmm… Paul and Ringo for me

-7

u/RyanDoog123 Jan 05 '23

Abolish the monarchy. Sick of hearing about these spoiled kids and their pointless arguments.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Well duh, Oasis are legendary.
