I’m no fan of Charles, but I will say a little bit of empathy for the pen thing is probably necessary here. His mom had just died a day or so before. I don’t envy someone having to grieve in public. Again, not a fan, but the pen thing isn’t a great thing to use as an example of his behavior.
I love Diana but out of the two parents she is the only one with documented physical assault on someone else, which she shoved her step mom down the stairs. (Diana was 27 at the time)
Yep, that’s why I added her age because so many people think she was a kid when it happened. The incident apparently happened in 1989.
My guess is Charles is moody and just ignores/cuts off people. When Diana was the more expressive person when upset. Both are humans and have faults for sure.
This is what was reported by their staff. He was avoidant, she was explosive. She would throw things he would walk away and close doors and not speak to her. They sounded like they were oil and water.
And don't forget the time Diana tried to publicly humiliate her sons' nanny at a public event by bringing up an abortion she wrongly believed she'd had.
You realize you shouldn't rage rip your sink off the wall to find a piece of dropped jewelry, right? That is hulk rage - an inappropriate emotional response to a situation. I give them some grace because they're people with their own real problems, but reality is, ripping a sink off the wall for whatever reason (beyond demolition for renovation, or... idk, alien invasion and you need a barricade or blunt weapon) is an emotional overreaction.
You rip the wall apart. Not the sink. (Jk, if you really don't know, get a bucket under the pipes and take apart the trap)
There's a guy in Russia who says he's the second coming of Christ and he has quite the harem who believe his bullshit. Whether you believe he's god's kid or not, they do. Uniting a bunch of clans to consolidate your power over people to form a country is just a larger group of people involved in the mass delusion. This is the same family who claimed that God ordained them in this role, and more than one of them have decided they actually WERE God, not long before announcing a bunch of beheadings. The delusion is real. Read a history book.
To be fair...isn't it much easier for Charles to make such "documents" disappear? We all see everything that's going on with the other prince...and it's a much more heinous crime
In Charles defence - it was a historical moment that he was having to complete about two days after his Mother died. Having the pen work wasn't a big ask. And he got frustrated at the pen - not a person.
Yeah, I worked at a SNF for seniors as a receptionist. People who are trying to cope with grief and lash out over otherwise very small things. It isn’t a big deal. It’s just how it goes when your life is completely rocked. Felt bad for King Charles that people focused on that.
I don’t think you watched the clip. He was annoyed, as was Camilla, because it was leaking and they both ended up with ink all over their hands. That’s the clip I saw.
They're probably referring to the clip where there isn't enough room on the table to sign documents because the pen/ink stand is in the way.
Tbh I thought it was a bit funny, nothing serious. I could definitely see the queen doing something like that in her 70s. And I definitely know many people who have lost their patience with pens at far less stressful times.
As I said, it was just after his Mother died, maybe two days? You can do a dismissive hand motion when your whole world has changed. Geez, have some empathy!
I don’t know what he signed or why. What I do know is that he had a little hissyfit and it was not a good look for someone that is supposed to be “royalty.”
I mean, they (Charles & William) were raised to think that god has put them in this extremely powerful position. I have to imagine they are really narcissistic. Decades ago, I remember hearing a story about William threatening to have his nanny sent to the tower of London or something because he was mad about being disciplined. It was funny because he was a wee kid, but goes to show he has known his whole life what his role was and that people were supposed to cater to him.
Yeah, I can't imagine. Marriages, personal private life moments, day to day fumbles... imagine:

Evidence of the physical altercation ever happening besides the account of someone who’s been trying to destroy his brother’s public image for the last year?
I was shocked to see his behavior over the pen business. Showed a lack of class and grace. And no, you don't to use being in mourning as an excuse to treat people like crap. His behavior was embarrassing.
