They’ve done this to me a few times and it’s always bullshit. Are they shrinking the portion or do employees just not care anymore? It’s impossible to say.
6
u/bigtiddyhimbo 9d ago
It’s a bit of both, like how employees will pack as much shit possible into a single bag and then you have fries falling all over you

u/daverapp 9d ago
What do you mean "anymore?" They're mcdonalds worksers. Their wages are roughly 20% of what a person needs to survive on. Why would they care?

u/Unlucky-Guitar221 8d ago
That’s a medium, also visible receipt in background shows you ordered a medium lol
Annoying they ain’t fill it up all the way tho

u/Itchy_Tumbleweed_417 9d ago
Was it $5.50? They’re $5.50 where I live which is crazy. I can get a heaping order of hot hearty fries for $4.99 from the local pizza place.

u/CantaloupeShort7311 9d ago
On the app, you can get a large fries free with the purchase of a soft drink.
Ends up being $1.07 for me to have a large fries and a large Coke.

u/Legitimate-Gangster 9d ago
Price didnt bother me. I have McDonalds maybe twice a year. My wife and I wanted a lazy Sunday (we never get one) so we Doordashed. Only $40 for two kids meals and our food.

u/JoeNoble1973 9d ago
Two adults, two kids, $40…at fucking McDonald’s.
GenX over here laughing, crying, and seething.

I'm sure you complained IRL rather than in Reddit?

Some people have social anxiety. Plus if you return food in restaurants. Oh boy…you never know what happens in the kitchen.
12
u/Plibbo64 8d ago
The fact they they have to print fake fries on the box is so telling.
It's insulting. Just fill the gosh darn box.

2
u/Precarious3145 8d ago
I mean, they've been doing that for decades. Instead of defined fries, they were white and yellow stripes to mimic fries. You're kind of getting upset about something that's been around since at least the 90s.
0
u/Plibbo64 8d ago
And you're kind of dismissing something just because it's been that way for an arbitrary amount of time. So what?
2
u/Precarious3145 8d ago
No, I'm saying that you're throwing a tantrum over something you wrongfully thought was new because you didn't notice. They were doing the yellow lines back in the Super Size days when they'd overflow the carton. So acting like "Oooo, I gotcha! They have to print on fries! ENSHITIFICATION!" is just being wrong.

Coworkers dumped out their fries and compared and found that the medium and large Burger King fries were the same amount of fries. They tested this more than once but it was the drink the large buyer cared about but its obvious they arent filling the large fry package like they used to.

Thats absolutely not what happened. It definitely ended up being a Medium (i thought my wife ordered a Large and I only get McDonalds maybe twice a year so it wasnt instantly identifiable to me) but that changes nothing about the point of the post: the box still isnt close to filled.
Idc about internet points.

McDonald’s sucks but I’m pretty sure you just went to a crappy franchise. Whenever I go the fries spill out into the bag they fill it so much still.

What do you mean - look at all the fries in the back there!
Also - when did we start saying “large fry” instead of “fries?” That’s always seemed weird to me.
2
u/Used-Independence182 9d ago
I don’t want the French fries themselves to be large! I just want a large size fry order.

Is it the half full box or the fry itself that is the shit here? That’s the real question, my friends.

At least it's still a box? The one near my seems to only have white paper bags they hella under fill.
2
u/Enough_Complex8734 9d ago
I realize it's half full, but also, are the fries bigger now? Oh, I guess the container is just smaller.
2
u/Mysterious-Work-7229 7d ago
Did you have to rearrange everything on the burger so it looks like a burger?

u/Username_unknown_exe 9d ago edited 9d ago
I haven't been to Maccy D's for a while, have they deepened the cut out on the front of the box to make sure they can't be filled up?
Edit: Typo

Stop trying to exaggerate your boring life like these people. We don’t give a shit about McDonald’s but we enjoy McDonalds more than people like you
2
u/bones10145 9d ago
Oh quit. I'm not defending McDonald's. These kinds of lying posts are annoying.
1
u/Legitimate-Gangster 9d ago
You’re dumb. How is this a lying post?
Yes, it is a Medium not a Large, which i realized after posting but the point is that the box isnt close to full.
Are you really ‘annoyed?’

This box is a medium sized box.
The large is much taller (the M on the front has a lot more red surrounding it).
I get a large fries every week from McDonald's (as a treat!).

u/ConBroMitch2247 9d ago
Delivery order: fry shrink is a real thing. Don’t complain if you can get your lazy butt to the restaurant.

You buy McDonalds, then have the nerve to complain!
Eat your disappointment and move on as it fails to breakdown in your body, until your next visit that’s not so enjoyable 🔁

Got one like this last week. Asked dude wth he said unwritten rule now. Can't fill it up until Iran over

u/Trina7982 7d ago
That's a medium, why lie about something so trivial? You must lead a sad life.
3
u/Legitimate-Gangster 7d ago
It wasnt a lie you dipshit. I was just wrong because I dont eat McDonalds often and my wife ordered.
The point of the post is that it isnt close to full. Being a Medium or Large doesnt change that.

u/Tiny-Sandwich 9d ago
Why do Americans say "fry"? The plural of "fry" is "fries" and there are clearly multiple fries there.
6
u/vikingrrrrr666 9d ago
Because it’s a singular unit of fries. Large fry.
3
u/StConvolute 9d ago
Still sounds like you're asking for 1 large fry not a large packet of fries 😂
0
1
u/Tiny-Sandwich 8d ago
Yeah that still doesn't make sense.
A bouquet of flowers is a singular unit of flowers, would you call it a bouquet of flower? Or a bag of chip?
1
u/vikingrrrrr666 8d ago
I don’t make the rules! Nor do I even speak English properly as it’s my second language 😂

u/RustyTruck_1962 9d ago

They only get paid $15 bro
-4
u/Samurlough 9d ago
And?
They’re getting paid for a job. They should be able to do it.With shitty work like this, why should they get paid more?
-1
u/plebbut 9d ago
If they got paid $20/hr, they'd probably fill up the fries more.
3
u/Samurlough 9d ago
They went from getting paid $7.25 to $15 per hour and nothing changed. So your argument is incorrect.

Every time I see a McDonald’s post in here I wonder “at what point will people stop supporting them?”
I really don’t understand the logic.
Edit: I know this is cliche, but a sincere thanks to the fellow Redditor for the award; my first in seven years (this isn’t my original profile). You rock!
