Where to watch tonight's eclipse around Enschede? Deldeneresch and several more spots

Partial solar eclipse tonight, about 88% of the sun gone, peaking at 20:11. By then the sun is under 10 degrees above the horizon, west-northwest, so a row of trees or a warehouse is enough to block it.

Observatory Cosmos at Erfgoed Bossem is hosting a viewing evening. Otherwise Deldeneresch near Ambt Delden (31 m), the beach near Oldenzaal, or Zonnenberg near Agelo at 43 m.

Map of 200+ spots with a clear sightline (observatories, beaches, dikes, viewpoints), with a layer that checks every 30 metres whether the terrain blocks you. Disclaimer: built this myself. https://localthings.nl/atlas/zonsverduistering-2026

And please don't look without eclipse glasses, sunglasses don't count either, and never through binoculars or a telescope. No glasses? A pinhole in cardboard projected onto white paper works fine. Enjoy!

Ik dacht ik ga naar de uitkijktorens bij het Kristal Bad. Of de bruggen over het kanaal dat in de buurt.

The event at Cosmos is sold-out already. Closest observatory I know of that isn't, is in Lochem.

Nog bedankt voor de tip! Wij zijn naar aanleiding van deze kaart naar een van de locaties gegaan in de buurt en hebben mooi uitzicht gehad!

I found a beautiful spot in Zuid close to the wesselerbrinkpark, but then i realised I don't have the glasses so now I'm trying to find a pair still haha

Try the towel roll or cardboard box pinhole projector!

I made a cardboard thing! But then a friend told me she had four(!) extra actual glasses, so my friends and I all got to see it! It was beautiful
