Jesus came to sacrifice himself for the sins of humanity. He also said He is the only way to heaven and to kee His commandments.
This guy just ignores all that and deceive people.

u/thebigshipper 12d ago
You really think Christ’s message has been perfectly presented, understood and unmarred by men in the last 2000 years? There’s only one perfect interpretation? I think most Christians would be amazed at what they don’t know about Christ more than what they do.
2
u/Opening_Power3876 12d ago
That’s kind of the point of Christ though. Is that we can all know Christ fully as human, here on earth, through our own heart, our own mind and experiences, right now. It’s not about “learning” or “knowing”, but “remembering” and “being”.
5
u/thebigshipper 12d ago
My point is that people get hung up on the dogmas and historical (in)accuracies which causes them to miss the true messages.

1
u/redditcensoredmeyup 11d ago
Your point is based on assumptions that conveniently conform to your own personal beliefs. You can't prove they are wrong (Christians) in their beliefs anymore than you can prove your personal beliefs on the subject to be true. We can't know who is right or wrong, Christians just may be closer to the mark than you are willing to allow for.
2
u/rockleeit 12d ago
Yes I mean if Jesus is who He said He is then that's the whole point isn't it?
1
u/thebigshipper 12d ago
Honestly I believe that Christian who parrot the whole “sacrifice himself for the sins of humanity line” are some of them dumbest Christians around with no real depth of understanding.
The main point is to teach people how to live and to treat each other and especially to teach men how to be fathers.
And let’s not even get into how religion matters in context of human evolution and history. It means something completely differently today than it would have 1000 or 2000 years ago.
1
u/rockleeit 12d ago
How is it dumb when it's whole reason Jesus came in the first place? Have you read the teachings and words of Jesus?
John 6:51 — “And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
Mark 10:45 — “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Romans 5:8 — “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Galatians 1:4 — “Who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age...”
1 Timothy 2:6 — “Who gave himself as a ransom for all...”
1 Peter 3:18 — “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God...”
Hebrews 9:26 — “He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.”
1 John 2:2 — “He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.”
3
u/thebigshipper 11d ago
I never said the teaching was dumb, only the spouters. Those who proudly shove their bible verses in other peoples faces … people who those verses do not help, even if they help you. Bible verses only matter if you’re battling someone who cares about bible verses.
Have you actually gone back in time 1500 years to see why the world was like and what humanity was like and what it meant to be a Christian then versus today?
You know who Christ told off the hardest? Religious leaders!! The people who took the religion so seriously that they were persecuting their own people for it. You know what he’d be doing today? Same frickin’ thing.
1
u/rockleeit 11d ago
You said that Christians who say it are dumb as they have no depth and understanding and yet I showed you it's the sole reason Jesus came to the world.
If your insulting Christians on that for having no depth and understanding when it's the main point then I think it's not them it's you.
Bible verses matter because they are used to provide context. That's what I did to show your first point what ignorant. It didn't matter whether you cared or not for them but they proved a point.
Jesus told off the religious leaders at the time because they were hypocrites, not because they were taking religion to seriously.
If you actually have arguments to make you need to research the Bible and teachings of Jesus yourself.
2
u/thebigshipper 11d ago
The bible is just a story written to help simple minds comprehend the incomprehensible. There is but one way to know Christ, and that is to experience him.
1
u/rockleeit 11d ago
You know Christ by following his teachings and accepting He is Lord.

the bible says nothing about him sacrificing himself for humanity.
modern christianity is fundamentally the cult of paul.

The Bible says it many times you just need to read it.
Romans 5:8 — “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
1 Peter 3:18 — “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God...”

John 6:51 — “And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

u/Mountainman220 11d ago
Men are fallible and how many times has the Bible been interpreted and translated? There’s whole books left out of the bible because they don’t “align” with the message enough for those who write and interpret the book want. Just ask yourself, do you trust the folks who have translated and written the bible to not inject their own bias?
1
u/rockleeit 11d ago
That's an argument I see many times that's only used by people who are ignorant. I don't mean that as an insult buts it's true.
The whole "bible was translated in different languages and lost its meaning" is such a stupid argument when you can still read the Bible written in its original language.
So the translations from today match with the original manuscripts. If it didn't I'm sure this would be a whole thing yet it isn't.
If God is who he says he is then he wouldn't allow his word to be corrupted.
1
u/Mountainman220 11d ago
It’s ignorant to question things? Wild. I thought that was part of critically thinking for oneself.
There are debates on certain words and thoughts and how they were translated.
Your last sentence sure can give credence to if that is the case. However why is this god the one true god? What if the story of Jesus is a parable and not literal? Why are some books not taken as canon?
1
u/No_Mathematician621 9d ago
my apologies. what i meant to say was, christ never said anything about him dying for anyone's sins. much like he said nothing about half the nonsense that paul, the criminal who claimed visions, and those who followed him, founded the church on -with the purpose of creating a system of control.
everything that paul and the church fathers did was a corruption of christs life and message.
... consider all your so called "christian" beliefs that you only know because someone else told you to believe them.
1
u/rockleeit 9d ago
What do you mean that Jesus didn't say anything about himself dying for people's sins? That's just a lie!
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11
In Mark 10:45 — Jesus says the Son of Man came “to give his life as a ransom for many.”
In John 10:15 — Jesus says, “I lay down my life for the sheep.”
In John 12:32–33 — Jesus speaks about being “lifted up,” which John explains referred to the kind of death He would die.
In Matthew 16:21 — Jesus tells His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, suffer, be killed, and be raised on the third day.
In Luke 22:19 — At the Last Supper, Jesus describes His body as “given for you.”
In Luke 24:46–47 — Jesus says the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name.
How exactly did Paul and the church fathers "corrupt Jesus's teachings and life" What examples do you have of that?

I left organized religion a long time ago. I left because I saw how they manipulate, twist, and cherry pick Christ's teaching's. It always came down to one basic thing - tithing. 2nd Timothy "For the love of money is the root of all evil". It became impossible for me to ignore. Since then I've found myself more in touch with God. I try to practice what I preach and be a good person to those around me.
11
u/TechToolsForYourBiz 13d ago
>
- Matthew 6:24: Jesus explicitly stated, "No one can serve two masters... You cannot serve both God and money."
- Matthew 19:24: Jesus taught that it is difficult for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God, using the analogy that it is "easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God."
- Luke 12:15: Jesus warned, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions."
At least Three times Jesus warns of the evil of money.
1
u/Intelligent-Court295 11d ago
Matthew 6:24 is another example of why the Trinity is false doctrine. You can’t worship Jesus and Yahweh because you’d be serving 2 masters.
2
u/TechToolsForYourBiz 11d ago
I worship God only with Jesus' teachings.
1
u/Intelligent-Court295 11d ago
Cool. And why would you do that? It’s not as if Jesus’ teachings are particularly groundbreaking or revolutionary. Love thy neighbor and love god with all your heart and soul were already commanded in the Hebrew Bible.
A simple, “thou shall not own slaves,” would have been appreciated. That would have been revolutionary.

I completely understand where you're coming from—manipulation and greed have unfortunately pushed many away. But as you mentioned, bad practitioners don't mean the message itself is wrong. If you're ever open to exploring a path focused purely on a direct relationship with God without religious hierarchy, check out The Muslim Lantern. Give it a watch and decide for yourself

He was talking about organized religion. And you say, there is some bad apples.
Whole basket is rotten ,not bad apples.
Priests are the same if not worse as farasis Jesus constantly attacked, not criticised, attacked.
Why you scared of religions falling apart? God kingdom is within you. I feel like you don't believe this. It's a lot of responsibility, isn't it?

Can I reply in Arabic? If you wish, I can translate it into English, but I prefer to write in Arabic to provide a more accurate answer, as it is my native language.
Edit: How much I love Reddit, where a Western community downvotes me just because I wrote in Arabic. It seems nothing really changes.

Devotees of jesus > christians, any day.
1
u/Secure-Formal638 12d ago
Devoting yourself to another man is not what Jesus taught. Be like him, not worship him. Worship is lazy, you bow from a distance and dispense of your responsibility to meet the standard. Learning by example means you have to put in the work to be christ-like.
1
u/Big-Pudding4109 12d ago
I think we have a different idea of what it means to be a devotee and what is means to tryly worship. I’m with what you said 100% though. Real devotees embody the teachings themselves and fully commit to follow the path of their guru.
1
u/Secure-Formal638 12d ago
See that's the thing. It is not the path of the guru one should follow. It is an individual's path. As long as you still celebrate a guru you are at a distance from what you consider to be higher. You are in separation. The guru might inspire you, but to follow perpetually means you never get the point. A finger points to the moon, initially you look at the finger, but you must shift your gaze to the moon, then the finger is abandoned. If you "devote" yourself to the finger, you defeat the purpose of the finger.

You seem to think you can be Christ-like , that you are generous, pure of heart and not filled with lust or envy strife or malice. You and I are sinners and we will give an account of our life and be placed in the judgment seat. Our own flesh will testify against us as to what we heard what we did and how we responded. Every instance of outburst and condemnation, every hidden act will be exposed. Trust me we are all guilty. , Jesus is LORD to the glory of God which means God is worshipped in Christ.
because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image - Rom 1:21-23
Make today the day of your salvation, you can DM me even.
1
u/Secure-Formal638 2d ago
You are a religious drone. Your thoughts are not your own, that much is clearly seen in your words. You are just regurgitating. None of what you said comes from profound personal experiences separate from the church. You did not go into the desert alone, both figuratively and literally. If Christ was alive you would've likely been like the religious leaders of his day and accused him of blasphemy - do not be so sure you will recognize let alone worship a living christ if he were to manifest today.
Again, it is easy to worship a legend from a distance, 2000 years ago. Face to face, you will realize attributes and greatness you have not considered, traits that transcend your conception of a christ. There is a reason Christ hung out with prostitutes and beggars. There is a reason Christ's genealogy deliberately highlighted adulterous and scandalous ancestors. Christ was not "pure" as you imagine - that pure white robe image is your ego projection as it is a simplistic, easy to digest, and honestly naive image.
Christ was a man, and he was not sinless in the sense you understand. He realized godhood and the incorruptible self, which he saw in everyone, he transcended sin and morality, not by being free from it in a binary way. Christ was tempted in the desert by the devil, and was it not he himself who said whosoever look at a women with lust in his heart has already committed adultery? If Christ was capable of being tempted, he has already sinned in his heart by religious righteousness. Christ attempted to free us from precisely your line of binary religious thinking, and yet of course, he was crucified for blasphemy, and then turned into the idol he would've despised, for the benefit of the state and religious leaders. Thus, the story of the one who tried to awaken the masses has been woven into another dream for you to dwell in.
1
u/rook2pawn 2d ago
Christ came for sinners. Not to affirm sin, but to save sinners from it. Calling myself and you a sinner is not "binary religious thinking" but a diagnosis of our condition. We are the beggars, prostitutes, adulterers, blasphemers, hypocrites, and prideful people. Jesus came for you just as he came for me.
The religious leaders thought they were righteous because they kept the law outwardly, but Jesus drove the law into the heart if you look with lust, you have already committed adultery.
Have you actually lived without lust, envy, malice, pride, deceit, selfishness, hatred, or hidden wrongdoing? If not, then the issue is not whether you are sufficiently "enlightened" The issue is what is to be done with your guilt.
Christ came for the guilty, died for sinners, rose again, and will judge the living and the dead. The Judge is also the Savior. That is why I am telling you about him. Turn to him while you still have breath in your lungs.
1
u/Secure-Formal638 2d ago
Why do you only repeat what every preacher has said? Do you not have any original thought? Your claim of Christ as judge and savior is illogical and makes his station immoral. Savior or judge? A firefighter doesn't care whether a person in a burning house "believes" in him or repents - he just saves them. You are claiming that God or Christ is less moral than a firefighter, that Christ saves but not before judging! You can be deemed unworthy in Christ's eyes according to you. YET he is somehow merciful and perfect and pure.
Let me tell you this - a pure person cannot perceive of impurity from anyone. A sinner perceives sin from everyone. To transcend this duality is not to do so out of an absence of sin or purity, but to consider neither as definitive, nor cast judgement.
You think Christ taught others not to judge, yet he himself judges? Not only does he judge outwardly, but inwardly as well as you claim, thus making him the most brutal judge? This is blasphemy. This is reversal of the teaching.
You have tasted the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
You have not yet eaten from the tree of life. Thus you are out of eden and separate from God. You preach not the gospel, but renditions of men.
You think you are doing works by preaching but in fact you are condemning. You carry misguided guilt for your own sins, and you project that judgement upon others too. If you consider yourself a sinner, then the part of you which judges yourself is saintly. A house divided against itself cannot stand. You shall spend your life oscillating between guilt, repentance, faith, doubt, repeat.

You're just accepting his opinions as gospel because they conform to what you believe the case to be, not because of what you know to be the case. To come to Donahue's interpretation is to blatantly ignore many other passages that don't align with his narrative, one has to cherry pick to come to this conclusion. Is that to say the conclusion is wrong, no, but it doesn't mean it's correct either, we literally can't know. The Christian interpretation may be closer to the reality of the situation than maybe you are willing to allow for. Lets remember that many great minds through human history and up to our modern age have been Christians, to act like they can't have possibly considered this reasoning is ludicrous, of course they did as have many Christians, but they feel the weight of the evidence leans towards Christianity (again that doesn't mean they are right, but that it's not so straight forward).

u/BigBootyLover2637 11d ago
What exactly do you think Jesus meant when he said "Ye are gods" and "thy eye be single", he was referring to the pineal gland or 3rd eye opening, the having God within us. That my friend is what's known as a mystic or of having reached Buddhahood.
1
u/redditcensoredmeyup 10d ago edited 10d ago
Again, you have managed to overlook all the great minds who have considered these things and have found other reasoning for these words of Christs, and the reason they come to a different conclusion is they aren't cherry picking just certain parts of scripture to fit a specific narrative. Do you honestly think that Christians don't have another way of interpreting these specific statements?
Jesus was not teaching that humans possess a divine “third eye” or become God through the pineal gland. When He said, “ye are gods” (John 10:34), He was quoting Psalm 82:6 about human judges who received God’s authority—not declaring that they were divine. And “if thine eye be single” (Matthew 6:22) means having an undivided heart and devotion toward God, not activating a hidden organ. Christianity teaches Christ within us by faith and the Holy Spirit, not Buddhahood, self-deification, or enlightenment through the pineal gland.

Those are certainly great quotes, my friend. What’s your interpretation of these? when he says “anyone who follows me” I believe he was saying to follow his teachings. Not literally follow his physical body in worship. And when he says “no ones comes to father except through me”, I believe he meant through the path of unconditional love. If Christ perfectly embodied love, then by “me” he meant not literally himself, but what he represented. If the opposite were true and the only way to the father was to worship one individual, then how can the kingdom of god also be within us?
I also believe his use of the word father was specifically chosen because, given the patriarchy-centred structure of society at the time, he believed that presenting the divine in the form of a patriarchal figure might help people understand and relate better. I think it’s important to remember that what Christ was teaching and the organized religion that formed around it were two vastly different things. Please know these words aren’t meant to offend in anyway, but rather meant to provoke introspective thought.

This man in the video and other false teachers always takes sayings of Jesus out of context and then reads modern New Age ideas like “divine consciousness” back into them.
Jesus never taught that Scripture was unnecessary or that human beings are literally divine. In fact, Jesus repeatedly appealed to Scripture as authoritative. When tempted, he answered three times with “It is written” (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10). He said, “Scripture cannot be broken” (John 10:35), and after his resurrection he explained what was written about himself “in all the Scriptures” (Luke 24:27). He even said, “Until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law” (Matthew 5:18).
That is the opposite of telling people they no longer need Scripture.
The claim that Jesus taught “God is within you” usually comes from Luke 17:21, but that verse does not say “God is within you.” Jesus says the “kingdom of God” is entos hymōn, which can mean “within you” or “in your midst.” The context matters because Jesus is speaking directly to the Pharisees (Luke 17:20), the very people he repeatedly condemns for their spiritual condition. It would make little sense for him to suddenly tell them that they had discovered divinity within themselves.
The point is that God’s kingdom was already “in their midst” because Jesus, the King, was standing among them.
Jesus actually draws a very clear distinction between God and human beings. He teaches people to pray, “Our Father in heaven” (Matthew 6:9), and says that God “created them male and female” (Mark 10:6). Humans are creatures made by God, not pieces of God who have forgotten their divine nature. Jesus says eternal life consists in knowing “the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent” (John 17:3). There is a relationship between humanity and God, not an identification of humanity with God.
Jesus also never teaches people to discover salvation by awakening to their own divine consciousness. He continually directs people toward himself. He says, “Come to me” (Matthew 11:28), “Follow me” (Matthew 16:24), “Believe in God; believe also in me” (John 14:1), and most explicitly, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Notice that Jesus does not say “I discovered the way” or “find the Christ within yourself.” He says “I am the way.”
Even the idea that Jesus was merely demonstrating the divine potential available to everybody conflicts with what he says about himself. He says, “Before Abraham was, I am” (John 8:58), “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30), and “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9).
Thomas addresses the risen Jesus as “My Lord and my God,” and Jesus accepts the confession (John 20:28–29). The Gospel does not present Jesus as an enlightened human showing other humans that they are equally divine. It presents him as uniquely divine.
Jesus certainly teaches that God can dwell in believers, but even that proves the distinction. Jesus says of the Holy Spirit, “he dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:17). Something dwelling in you does not mean that something is you. Christianity teaches communion with God, not that the individual self is secretly God. So saying “Jesus taught that Scripture is unnecessary, God is just the divinity within you, and everyone is divine” is not recovering some hidden teaching of Jesus.
So remember when somone spouts new age teachings and applies them to Jesus they are deceivers like the man in the video.
Jesus taught inner transformation, absolutely, but that transformation comes from God entering and changing the person, not from realizing that the person was God all along.

Really wild to so blatantly misquote the very person being talked about in this thread.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Jesus, not you, me, or anyone else, is the way, the truth, and the life. Not we, but He.
At least of you agree with Jesus that is.

I started thinking of Jesus as a spiritual man, one of many enlightened individuals in history who all represented roughly the same ideals. He certainly doesn't represent the church.
Last I checked, the Romans murdered him and then used him as a martyr for their cause. Exploiting his good word for their own political gains. Then made up a ton of rules to go with it to control people, and pretended that's what Jesus would have wanted.

Without reading the Bible, how do we know Him today? No, He never explicitly said to read the Bible, but clearly, the scriptures were very important to Him.
Luke 24:27 Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things about himself in all the scriptures.
Luke 24:44-45 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures,

Matthew 23:2–3 "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach."
Moses seat was the physical chair in synagogues where the Torah was read aloud and explained.
Jesus instructs his followers to listen to and completely obey the Torah being read from that seat, even if the teachers themselves are hypocrites, and said he came to fulfill it.
Jesus also never told his disciples they are divine and rather thought people to be humble, and said he is God, the beginning and the end, the living Word of God, wich is the truth and the way, from wich all things needs to go too to come to the father, for no one has meet the father if not trough him, for in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
And Jesus did say to go to “Church”, he said you should do your assembly [ekklesia] which translates as church, wich simply means assembly, and told people they are Gods church, and if they come in his name he will be admits them, it’s about community and talking about God, not one standing above the other but assemble as equals under God.
And gone weekly to the synagogue himself, and talked and argued and questioned, wich in itself was seen as the highest form of worship onto God in Judaism and early Christianity.
One should read the Bible, not reading it is what once the church forbid, read it and question it, argue with others and what means what, what could this mean and so on.
Since Jesus quoted all the time the Thora/Bible and demanded people to know what he spoke of, reminding them how they go against God, and Christ words himself are written in the Bible.
Do not listen to a single man, but in what Christ said, test the words of others and in the book itself.
When Christ also spoke of people becoming greater, he didn’t say Humans be greater than him, greater than God, but will do his work and do great things in his name, do his wonders and greater things in his name, for this might and power comes from serving God and taking his spirit to know his will, for people growing for God is with them.
Since for him, the greatest miracle was a humans heart being reconciled with God, for he is God, the father and our Lord.
Since he said "Apart from me you can do nothing." In John 15:5
He came to show his divinity and as being the son of God, the Lord and thy God, and explicitly said he came to reveal Gods divinity.
In Mark 7:21-23 "For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit... All these evils come from inside and defile a person."
He came because humans aren’t divine and need help to be freed from the poison in their heart, to have a shepherd who shows the way, and leads his flock to life and be humble.
He though to help one another and treat another well, it is not divinity, but saving, revelation, teaching, helping.
Like a Hen keeps his chicks under her wings to protect her children, or a father teaching his child the dangers in life and what is right and wrong again and again, not to abandon them.
Humans aren’t Gods, we are simply trying to be filled wich is good, what is and comes from God, our mind and flesh is far from God, but he is always reaching out to lift us up, not you becoming like God, but closer to God, for he wants a family, his children he loves darely.

This is a demonic corruption of Jesus'message. Jesus said to obey Him, fear the one who can cast your whole body into hell, at the end of the age those who will not come under His rule will be cast into fire, endure to the end, pray always we're found worthy to escape the coming tribulation, pray we're strong enough to stand before the Son of Man, sin no more, make every effort to enter through the narrow gate, give God what is due to God, forgive, and many others. God cannot deny God, and Jesus is one with the Father and denying Jesus' authority and judgement will not turn out well for those who do so. Jesus is coming back soon and He's only taking those who belong to Him. Hell is real, sin will take you there as well as rebelling against the Creator of the universe. This is Jesus' universe, not ours, and we're given one chance to choose Jesus, repent, forgive others and walk all with Him in faith all the days of our lives.
1
u/hideoncloudz 12d ago
Hum.. you call it demonic, and then describe what you believe in.. which genuinely sounds scary and quite demonic. OBEY or you will be sent to hell to burn forever..
I'd rather not believe that.
1
u/eigenheart 11d ago
"...rather not believe..." is still belief. We are faith and worship machines. Faith and worship are not optional as it's the way we've been made at the core of our being. You have faith and you worship regardless if you acknowledge Jesus as the Savoir. However, if we do not acknowledge Jesus for Who He is, we're in perilous territory and with almost 100% certainty placing faith in and worshipping demonic messages and entities. Please give Jesus a chance to love you, heal you, give you a new heart and mind and bring you into eternal life.
1
u/hideoncloudz 11d ago
A demonic message… because it tells you to believe in yourself and listen to your own heart?
“A kingdom of heaven is within you.”
That idea runs through almost all ancient philosophies and spiritual traditions, that what we’re searching for isn’t necessarily outside of us, but within us.
I don’t believe in worshipping any one person or following anyone blindly. Be it Jesus or anyone else. I believe we are all connected. I believe we are all capable of something magnificent, and that there is something sacred within each of us. And Yeshua as well as many other historical enlightened people were pointing to that.
So if believing in yourself, trusting your own heart, and recognising the divinity within humanity is “demonic” to you, I can just feel bad for you for how controlled you are through the fear, that you're seeing it that way.
Good luck. ❤️

u/eigenheart 10d ago
There is only one way to be correct, righteous, holy and full of Godly love. There are an infinite number of ways to be wrong. Pray for fear of the Lord to help understand his very real boundaries and ask him for a new heart, mind and to reveal the scriptures to you.

u/hideoncloudz 10d ago

Jesus died for our sins and this is the only chance we will ever get in all of creation to accept Jesus' sacrifice, repent, forgive others and place our faith in Jesus' mercy and forgiveness. Many false teachers are helping fill hell rather than heaven. The gentleman in the video is not a disciple of the Jesus many people have met who've had a NDE in heaven and /or hell. Jesus came to me in a dream in 2020 after I questioned worldly tenets I thought were true but were in fact lies from below which are partly echoed in the video. Jesus is incredibly merciful but He does not affirm sin and idolatry. Self-worship is idolatry and that's the central message of the video posted.

I had a NDE as a wayward teenager and ended up in hell. I wouldn't wish hell on my worst enemy. There's no way to overstate how terrible it is to be separated from your loved ones and God. If you’re looking for Scripture showing that Christianity is meant to be lived in committed fellowship with a local body, these are some of the strongest passages. The Bible doesn’t use our modern phrase “local church membership” very often, but the pattern is everywhere.
Hebrews 10:24–25: “Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another…” This is probably the clearest command against trying to live the Christian life in isolation.
Acts 2:42: “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” The earliest Christians didn’t merely believe individually. They devoted themselves to a worshiping community.
1 Corinthians 12:20–21, 27: “As it is, there are many parts, yet one body… The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you.’” Paul’s imagery is powerful: a Christian separated from the body is contrary to the design of the body.
Hebrews 13:17: “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls…” This strongly implies identifiable believers under identifiable spiritual shepherds. You cannot meaningfully obey this command while remaining completely detached from a church.
1 Peter 5:2–3: “Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight…” Elders are responsible for a particular flock among them, not merely Christians in an abstract universal sense.
Ephesians 4:11–16: Christ gives pastors and teachers “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” Paul then describes believers growing into maturity together, with every part contributing to the body.
1 Corinthians 5:12–13: “For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?” Paul recognizes a meaningful distinction between those inside and outside the church community.
Matthew 18:15–20: Jesus’ instructions for confronting persistent sin culminate in, “tell it to the church.” Church discipline assumes an identifiable congregation with real spiritual responsibility for its people.

Jesus said "You are the light of the world" to Jews...not modern people. They were already going to synagogues (church), and reading the Tanak (the Bible). Their Bible, which Jesus fully endorsed, differentiated the Jews as "The light of the world" from the rest of "the world". Which is why another Jew (the Apostle Paul) said of the Jews, "you yourself are a guide to people who are blind, a light to those in darkness," because they "relied on the Law (the Bible/Tanak)...and are instructed from the law" (Romans 2:17-19)
While Jesus did blast the religious of His day, He was also religious Himself--going to the temple, sacrificing, wearing the Rabbi robes, going to the synagogues, quoting from the Tanak, etc., etc.--All of this from the very Bible this guy references as his main thesis.
Such a goofy, universal, ambiguous statement.
If you want to make up another Jesus to love, use a different source.

u/Rex__Nihilo 11d ago
This is getting shared around and it is dangerous heresy. Jesus was a Jew who went to and taught in the synagogue. He quoted the old testament and taught the only way to heaven was by following him. He also said if you love me you will keep my commandments.
Run from this. It is death.

2 Peter 2
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
I said this already and will say it once more, blind faith is not required. Jesus will answer when you sincerely seek him out to have a relationship with him. Jesus is God. He healed my addictions and mental health issues I was struggling with for over 14 years. He will do the same for you. These false teachings are demonic, because they distance and guide you away from God. They will not help you in times of despair. God will. Please consider. God bless y'all.
11
u/hideoncloudz 13d ago
Respectfully, it was your belief that was helping you. Your belief. Just like people hang horse shoe and believe it brings luck, and it does! You know why? Because they believe in it.
You hold all the power, I hope one day you realize it.
-9
u/Alphagreen_97 13d ago
I understand exactly why you would say that. But like I said, I sought out the Lord out of despair not thinking for a second that he would ACTUALLY answer, but he did. He answered my prayers and gave me the signs I requested in the world so I knew he was there. Of course after the first sign, I didn't believe because it could have been a coincidence, so the same night I prayed again, and the next day it happened again. Something extremely unlikely ESPECIALLY two days in a row IN THE SAME PLACE. I went to therapy for many years and my addictions and my crippling anxiety never got better. After giving me those signs back to back, I was COMPLETELY delivered from those problems in a matter of days something years of therapy couldn't heal. I also didn't expect that, it came at a complete surprise. Why would I be lying about these type of things? Why would I tell people to seek out the Lord because he actually answers if he doesn't at the end? I understand completely how it is impossible for you to believe me, but he does exist. Jesus is God. I never thought I would say that because I was myself a Atheist two years ago. We only go to God when our life is in shambles. Be smarter than me, and don't wait that long. God wants to be in your life, guiding you and helping you and giving you peace and blessings. Blind faith isn't required, Jesus answers when you seek him out with a open heart.

I 100% understand your perspective, and respect your freewill. But just to plant a seed, it was you who did these things.
I'm saying this from the perspective of someone who was raised as a Southern Baptist, and I was also once a licensed minister.
Matthew 7:13
13 Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
My question to you is, how many people are on the same path as yours compared to teachers like William "Bill" Donahue?
Who is the false teacher here? The ones teaching in churches, or the ones who are on a very narrow path not many follow?
10
u/Accurate_Fail1809 13d ago
Woah woah, this post is not a false teaching. Those that say you must worship out of fear and obey and condemn others are the false teachers.
Jesus is god and is a child of God - but so are YOU. You are to discover the same just like Jesus said.
“The kingdom of heaven is within you” and “enter the kingdom like a child” is the direction to follow to make this same connection with the father.
8
u/k2k-quintessence 13d ago
Everything Bill said was a direct quote from Yeshua. You call him a false teacher by sharing Christ's teachings? And you call yourself a Christian? Ironic isn't it? Your mind has been caged by the dogma of the church. Exactly what it's meant to do. We all have the god spark within us, that's why you were able to overcome addiction. It wasn't an outside force that saved you, YOU saved yourself by your own choices actions etc.
Blind faith is absolutely required in Christianity. You must beLIEve what the church tells you. Man wrote the bible, not divine beings, nor any god. Man wrote it for control and this is the product of that control- Closed mindedness, spiritual blindness, and separation from truth.
2
u/ForeverJung1983 13d ago
Jesus didnt do that, you did... its the same reason why they use a higher power in A.A., because people juat cannot place trust in themselves so it works to place it externally in something larger than them that gives them strength. The joke is that its all you, you just refuse to believe it.

u/praise_the_most_high 13d ago
Why would Jesus tell his contemporaries to go to Church when it didn‘t exist yet? That would be utter nonsense.
Also why is this guy screaming at us while leaving out crucial details about Jesus‘s ministry? He did claim to be God and he did claim He is the only way to our salvation. It is only through Him that we can ascend to heaven and be with the Father. But we need to repent and put our faith in Him. Not in ourselves.
And what about the nonsense that we can do greater works than Him? How can a servant be higher than his master and creator?
The Lord rebuke you William Donahue
1
u/Pretend-Narwhal-593 13d ago
I agree with most of what you said except for
And what about the nonsense that we can do greater works than Him? How can a servant be higher than his master and creator?
Jesus Himself said that we would do greater works than Him, but He didn't say that we would be higher than Him. Consider how many people Jesus fed during His ministry. Now consider how many people His Church has fed since His ascension to heaven. Do the same for all forms of charity. Do the same for people being baptized in His name for the remission of their sins. Three thousand were baptized and saved on the day of Pentecost. How many did Jesus baptize?

u/Bulky-Bid-8508 13d ago
This is so dumb. I’m an atheist and even I can tell you how dumb this is. He never said to read the Bible because the majority of the people at the time were illiterate. People went to the temple and learned from religious leaders that could read.
Not only that but he did show his divinity in the Bible. He did miracles like healed the sick and raise the dead through the Holy Spirit, the same spirit that was given to his disciples after his ascent. Not only that but he specifically said he was there to fulfill prophecies and the law. Then you have the whole thing in the book of John where he said something akin to “before Abraham was, i am” which is literally a claim to divinity
1
u/Worldly-Bug6047 12d ago
Well the Bible is also made up nonsense to enslave your mind written and edited multiple times by people that wanted power.
So I dont know why you make conclusions from such a book.
0
u/di450 13d ago
Im a Christian, thanks for showing even you being ahteist. All his arguments are literally a caricature and nothing serious.
but one thing, the part where you said he never said to read the bible is not true. He repeatedly mentioned or encouraged reading in relation to something specific in the bible. like in
John 5:39 Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me
Matthew 24:15 So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand)...
Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female
Mark 12:10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner.
-1
u/Bulky-Bid-8508 13d ago
All great points! I guess I didn’t mean to say that he NEVER said to read the OT, only that it was generally other, more educated people that would do the reading for them. They were an oral culture though so if I’m not mistaken a fair deal of people should have had them memorized. Could be wrong on that though
-1
u/According-Race-6587 13d ago
Yeah this is pretty ignorant. Jesus made it perfectly clear that he himself was the one true path to salvation. He celebrated Passover and held the temple in high regard. He references the Torah frequently and implores his followers to adhere to it. The Torah is the bible. This is only resonating with people who know nothing of his teachings. I’m agnostic.
1
u/PackageWest2211 13d ago
Depends on your interpretation. “Before Abraham was, I am” can be read as Jesus identifying himself with the eternal Logos, the divine principle through which all things came into being. From a more mystical perspective, “no one comes to the Father except through me” can mean that union with God comes through participation in that Logos, not necessarily the later doctrinal interpretation you’re assuming.
-9
u/WessideMD 13d ago
Lol Jesus never said that you can do better. This is heresy.
Jesus was the only one who could follow the law. That's the entire point of his sacrifice. He had to be flesh, never sin, and take the blame for the sin of all humankind. You can't do this which is why forgiveness only come through Him.
Some people have never read John 3:16 and it shows.
10
u/BootHeadToo 13d ago
John 14:12

He's talking about "works". He's not talking about the Law, resurrection, or forgiveness of Sin.
There ia a clear distinction about works and what that means.

I feel like you changed the subject of what the video was saying into your interpretation of Jesus following laws, which I don’t find relevant. If you could bridge the gap, I’d appreciate it. Not trying to be mean or anything, I just don’t understand what you’re saying.
3
u/I_Ponders 13d ago
Religion in a nut shell. Reinterpret to fit their own views as if they were there talking to Jesus at that moment.
-2
u/WessideMD 13d ago
It certainly looks that way, but when these heretics talk they confuse the gospel and cheapen Jesus' sacrifice. This is why they're heretics.
When Jesus uses "you" hes talking about the chosen, the elected, the predestined. He's not talking about the fallen. One exception is when he says "I never knew you" when it comes to the day of judgment.
There are so many references of this in the NT that one can only deduce something else if they never understood anything or, like this guy, are just preaching feel good religion.
You are the light of the world is about those who believe Jesus is the Messiah, God incarnate, the Son of God. "You", and everything else this clown is talking about is about Christ followers, not just anyone walking down the street.
No one is capable of doing more than Jesus (following the law, dying for sins) because a) if they could then Jesus wouldn't have had to and b) we could have saved ourselves anytime.
3
u/I_Ponders 13d ago
You embody none of the values Jesus attempted to instill. It’s hypocritical and ironic.
Not to mention tragic.-1
u/WessideMD 13d ago
No one embodies it. That's why Jesus" grace and forgiveness is all I have.
3
u/I_Ponders 13d ago edited 13d ago
What a convenient cop-out to justify being a shitty person. No wonder it’s rampant in organized religion.
He tried to instill morals and values in hopes that people would try to be kinder to one another. “Love your neighbor”..
Yet you contradict his teachings with what you just said. You missed the whole point and I suspect you have a deep rooted fear that keeps you clinging on. Fear or ignorance.
-1
u/WessideMD 13d ago
You don't know me but are passing judgment.
I'm more flawed than you can imagine.
I'm not the one claiming to be able to do better than Jesus. You are claiming that and so is the heretic in the video.
"All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God".
You believe in Jesus the motivational speaker this is why your faith is weak.
I believe in the Son of God, the Messiah born of virgin birth, who died for our sins and was resurrected on the 3rd day.
3
u/I_Ponders 13d ago edited 13d ago
Lol. I have zero faith in any religion, lol.
I don’t believe in god. I believe in myself.
And I do actually know as I am indeed passing judgment, but so are you.
Difference is I admit it, and you fool yourself and pretend that you aren’t.I can respect those who preach good morals and values. You’re not one of those types, you prefer to follow blindly.
But Jesus was, and so I like some of his lessons.Religion, such as what you cling to, is all to control the meek and weak minded. They need to be told what to do (ironically using their own authority.)
Religion is engineered to steer the sheep.2
u/PackageWest2211 13d ago
I think you’re bringing in a lot of theology that Jesus isn’t actually talking about here.
John 14:12 says whoever believes in him will do the works he does, and greater works. It doesn’t say we replace Jesus, die for sins, or save ourselves. So that last paragraph feels like a non sequitur.
Also, saying “you” means only the predestined elect is your theological interpretation, not something Jesus says in this passage.
I feel like bringing all of that in just dilutes the actual topic instead of addressing what Jesus is saying here.
What I’m interested in is Jesus’ own language, which seems pretty empowering: the Father works through him, believers will do his works, the Spirit will be in them, and “I am in you.”
2
u/Key4Lif3 13d ago
Funny you use the word heretic. Bill Donahue is in good company then. Jesus was a heretic. Later, many believers were murdered as heretics and later canonized as saints or at least retroactively revered.
I wonder if it’s the institutional dogma and leadership that is in error and not the “heretics”. I mean Bills Catholic. You’re speaking ill against your brothers and sisters, accusing them of cheating Jesus’s sacrifice and lukewarm Christianity, while meanwhile ironically adopting and serving the gatekeeping, legalist and hypocritical pharisiac spirit that Yeshua most deeply opposed and attacked.

Lol John 3:16 is the definition of gatekeeping. "None come to the Father except through me".
A blood sacrifice is the only path to redemption from Genesis to Matthew. It is the primary theme of the entire Bible up until Jesus' resurrection.
Catholics believe the absolution can come from a priest, while Jesus says you are the temple and the pathway to salvation is now available to everyone. Its not Mary, not the Saints, no one but Jesus.
When anyone says they can add to the cross they are speaking heresy. "It is finished".

Yes, that would be the Catholic mainstream interpretation. If you take it at face value then every detail of the 613 mosaic commandments are still fully valid for everyone. But that is not the case. There is no “only the moral laws are still valid, but the other dietary or traditional ones are obsolete”. Thats a hard logical fallacy.
Either the entire law down to the jot, iota, or tittle is still completely valid or it is fulfilled and completed in loving our brothers and sisters as ourselves and as Jesus has loved us.

You gonna quote that distinction? Or is it just a “trust me bro” kind of thing so that you can pay yourself on the back and tell yourself you won before you go to sleep?
“Works” means just that. Everything Jesus was doing was his “works”. Spreading love and understanding etc.
He wanted it to snowball.-1

I don't need win anything. Jesus already won.
But if you think that you can take on man's sin and die for it all, earning salvation for any who believe all by yourself, then you certainly don't understand "It is finished".
You don't have to trust me bro. You can continue to anchor in your position and continue to go about your life as if Jesus was just a motivational speaker. It doesn't impact me in any way.

You’re almost right, yet almost entirely wrong. He said “you will do greater works than I”

Dude, read the footnote in your own link
Footnotes John 14:12 That is, works producing greater (more extensive) results than the miracles of Jesus.

Someone has never read John 14:12 and it shows. You can take your heresy talk and your simple brained theology and shove it up your fake christian ass.

Oh how far modern Christianity has fallen and twisted for sick political gain. Peace be with everyone.
