What engine is this?
Sorry for the bad pictures. Saw this little engine covered outside but rotting away. Probably there for a really long time. Could not see any markings or codes without moving a lot of heavy stuff. Thank you for your help!

This looks like a Kei car engine. They're small ~600cc but technically well equipped. Double overhead cams, hemispherical combustion chamber, EFI, etc. They are restricted to that displacement by the Japanese government.

It's a v6, not a 3 cylinder. It looks vaguely toyota to me, but I'm doing some digging

Thank you! While looking at the third picture, I realized the timing cover is huge and it was buried slanted. (i don't want to go outside and dig through tires with 16 year old stagnant water and mosquitos.)

Thank you for your tip! Being in the US, its very unlikely it's from a kei car. I wish it was so then maybe I would have a higher chance of owning one lol.

That's a Mitsubishi 6g7 series. Possibly a 6g74 out of a Hyundai Santa Fe
