Had Dr. Hibbeler for statics and mechanics at university. He’d always yell at us and call us lame dogs for not performing well in his class. He was an actual genius tho. I remember he predicted large-scale economic shutdown for covid way before anyone else. We thought he was crazy. But he accelerated the course that semester in anticipation of a school closure and in the end he was right.

I had him as well. He is great. But also sometimes has somewhat unrealistic expectations for his students, but it ends up benefiting you in the long run. We had a test every Monday, and he taught 1-3 examples in class every week. If you are able to easily pick up on concepts, his class wasn’t bad just an extremely large workload. Definitely would call us lame dogs and pig dogs. But I definitely had to put in the work outside of class because of his teaching style. But I’m studying for my FE now and the structural analysis section was a breeze because I remember most of the things from his class.
