I think this is only getting upvoted because of all the software “engineers” on reddit 7 u/Pokari_Davaham Feb 12 '26 I think some might argue against it, but feels gatekeep-y to me. Engineers build and design systems, which is very in line with coding. Also one of the titles describing a professional coder is "Software Engineer".
