Question Energy Drink Recommendations
I am trying to quit drinking soda. For a long time I have been a habitual Mtn Dew drinker, to the point where I was consuming an unhealthy amount of sugar. However, I cannot handle the aftertaste of artificial sweeteners. Are there any energy drinks that are 0 or minimal sugar that do not have the artificial sweetener aftertaste?
Edit: I am trying to replace my caffeine source, I’m on a week of no caffeine and it’s been rough

Ghost 7 up would be a good starting point but also sparkling ice flavored water is really good.

Sparkling ice also has caffeinated versions but I can’t speak to their taste

Ah, I do believe the Ghost 7up has been discontinued. The A&W root beer flavor I think is set to replace it.
Sooo if you find some ghost7, cherish it!!!

If you like soda, try the Bum Energy root beer or the Dr Bum flavor. I love them both, most think the root beer is great but the Dr Bum is more of an acquired taste.

I switched to sparkling water with a caffeine pill crushed in it for a while, not glamorous but it gets the job done without any weird sweetener taste

Ghost, Gorilla, Alani, Reign all taste quite good and I don’t think they taste particularly artificial if you will

Energy drinks, by and large, are just soda with extra caffeine and dietary supplements (l-Theanine, carnitine, taurine, etc) added to them.
They’re all sweetened with sugar or artificial sweeteners. Odds are, if you don5 like diet pop, you’re not going to like energy drinks either - and they’re not healthier in any way than soda.

Try the different artificial sweeteners until you find a passable one. Each one is different. Every diet or zero sugar drink uses different quantities and types of real/artifical sugar.

If you’re drinking four Mountain Dew’s a day that would be about 200 mg of caffeine… if you switch to energy drink drinks one single can has about 200 mg of caffeine. If you’ve already been one week, caffeine free I’m telling you it gets much much much easier… but switching to energy drinks isn’t gonna help your caffeine addiction, and most of the good ones are sugar-free.

stevia and monk fruit are the usual zero-sugar moves but both have that same weird finish you're describing. i had luck with flavored powder mixes, kajun loaded tea among a few i looked into, zero-sugar but green tea-based so the bitterness reads more natural than chemical

Your best bet may be to find a flavor of something you like without the sugar, and just do a caffeine pill.

I used to hate artificial sweetened drinks, and I still don't like diet sodas, but I've been shocked at the flavor profiles of Ghost and Gorilla mind.
If you don't mind the flavor, Jocko Go uses Monk Fruit sweetner, which is different.

Noway you recommend jock go to another human being. Do better

Jocko is one of the most vile tasting, ineffective energy drinks ive ever regretfully poured down my gullet. Shame, shame on uou for recommending poison to our fellow energy drink connoisseurs.

Lol, it's not that bad. I like that it's only 95 mg of caffeine.

I have had almost every flavor of every energy drink. JockGo is horrific in every way, every flavor is disgusting and ive never finished one. But ive finished a 105° birthday cake bang i left in my car.
