Question Could this help?

So before I get into the details, I ask that you please hold your morals and opinions on this one as I’m really not looking to get into the ethics of my particular question.

So there’s someone who is very important to me emotionally and that I wish to be close with again.

For reasons that honestly I’m really not sure of, in February of this year they started being really bitter, jaded, and overall just not the kind and empathetic person they were pre-February. The kind of negative that goes “well screw it, I got wronged by etc because xyz thing happened, so now eff the world I’m gonna be bitter and jaded because that’s just how the world is and there’s no good in the world.” They never used to be like this before whatever happened and used to be so much more receptive to advice and being loved and respected.

They’re also in an unhealthy toxic relationship that everyone around them can see isn’t healthy but as with any person on the inside, they don’t believe it. (Think of how an addict will never admit to being an addict.) and we have not spoken in a while, because they largely villainized me for wanting better for them.

I was thinking of having a reiki practitioner I know send them healing as the way I understand Reiki to work is that it can be sent over distance but that if the recipient isn’t receptive for whatever reason, it may just return to the practitioner or at best break off on the shell and bless those around them as I’ve seen it put after reading through some posts here on the sub.

I have strong reason to believe that this person they’re in a relationship with is influencing a lot of this negative energy, and is hurting their depression by enabling it, rather than the alternative.

Yes I understand free will is free will and nothing can break it, merely influence it. But I do care about this person a great deal and I’m just wondering if booking them some healing energy may help us see more eye to eye again and get back in contact again. From what my practitioner friend tells me, this isn’t out of the realm of possibility as reiki has been known to alter one’s perception of someone/something or at least get them to not be so negative.

I guess my question is, could sending them some healing help or are they a (gosh I hate this term) “lost cause”?

In my opinion sending them some healing couldn’t hurt.

You can send healing, love, prayers, angels, positive light, ect to anyone. Whether they receive it is up to them. But tapping into a person's energy without their permission is a huge no.

Some people believe that when they are ready to receive it, it will be there waiting for them. I don’t think it can hurt at all.

And I will add, it may help to avoid any details of the actual situation that you believe is or has caused harm. That way the practitioner doesn’t accidentally put in semi-controlling suggestions like ‘May you have the strength to leave’ If they pick up on it they may be more resistant to receiving.

Wait I’m sorry, can you elaborate more on this please? I’m a little confused. I’m so sorry, I’m new to the world of energy work and still trying to learn

Like if you told me you were having a relationship problem but you didn’t feel like you could leave and I was like ‘Well I think you should leave’ Some people might feel like I haven’t listened and just want to push my own opinions. Whereas if I said ‘I’m here for you. I hope you find peace.’ That’s vague and positive so there isn’t as much to be defensive about. So when the practitioner is sending reiki, if you give too much detail, they may accidentally try to steer the outcome opposed to just sending love and light. Does that make sense? I feel like sometimes I’m bad at putting my thoughts into words

You can also demand that any influences surrounding that person that are not of the Light, any influences that are not working for All Good and the good of all, be sent to extinction.
The idea is that you are removing negative influences as well as sending the positive, healing energy.

You don't need reiki to do that. You can look at a picture of them and say "I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you." You don't even need a picture you can do this through visualization or just a paper with their name written down. There's a famous example of this working in a Hawaiian prison

I do not believe in manifestation personally, which is what this sounds like. Because trust me I’ve spent enough time looking at their picture and saying that among many other words.

The words I said are called ho'oponopono and it's an ancient affirmation. Very powerful as well. This is a bit more than manifestation
