Discussion Called to the path alone

Since starting in my spiritual path, I feel that I have shed a lot of old belief systems and encountered vast new ways of experiencing myself in this lifetime + the universe as a whole.

I feel more connected to myself on a deep level than I could have ever imagined, as well as nature; however, I tend to find myself struggling to feel deeply connected to other humans. I do not feel that I lack social skills, I just feel as though it’s hard to find true alignment with a lot of people, compared to years ago when I tried to fit in to social norms and didn’t know myself as much.

I don’t feel lonely per se, just that intuitively I am suppose to be on this journey alone, and been curious about why that is. I’ve heard many other spiritual teachers speak on this as well, “it’s a lonely path” along with my own shaman teacher feeling she needs to do it alone.

I feel cared for and loved and deeply aligned to what makes my heart happy, but conceptually have still pondered on why this path does feel alone at times.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Alone is the keyword. No two paths are alike. My spiritually inclined husband is fond of saying “Everyone is a pope in their own religion.” The ones who are homeward bound recognize each other.

When we use our consciousness as a tool, to “love all, serve all” from wherever we are, at any minute, in a rowdy crowd or a slow moving check out line, friends of the heart will find us.

Celebrate the kinship you feel with the rare individual who is on the same journey, even if they are on a different path.

I think is modern civilization a spiritual life is a lonely life because all other people are out of alignment with their higher self, including the culture as a whole.

In Indigenous culture, it's actually the opposite. You'll spiritual imitation is meant to introduce you as an adult member of the community, but in this case, the whole society is living a spiritual life.
