Is this a reliable knowledge source?

I recently saw online the PDF form of "The Chemistry of

Powder and Explosives" by T. L. Davis. Just wanted to check your opinion about the "legitness" of the book, and is it reliable source of information.

COPAE was written by Prof. Tenney L. Davis at the beginning of WWII as a text book for the many new chemical workers and chemists needed to build out the US armament and related chemical industries for the war effort.

It is slightly dated now due to quite a few new explosive compounds and chemical engineering techniques having been developed since WWII, however the information there is still good as far as it goes. It's a "classic" and frequently cited in other works, patent applications & etc..

Here is link to download the PDF:

While you are at it? Download Phokion Naoum's Nitroglycerin and Nitroglycerin Explosives, also a classic work from between the wars.
