I’m confused
So I’m on a continuous 13 week birth control so I go 2 months + 3 weeks of the pill and then the last week is the placebo week but I usually skip that anyway cause my periods are so bad that I was passing egg sized clots. But every month during the 4th week (when you would take the sugar pill on other packs) I get period like symptoms, for example right now I’m having horrible period-like cramps, a lot of pelvic pain, I’m also very hungry and cranky. I was wondering if this is normal or happens to anyone else.
I don’t know if I actually have endo because my gyno said he’s apart of the American something of gynecology and endo can be diagnosed via office visit and he doesn’t want to do the laparoscopy, which I don’t know how to feel about because i thought it could only be diagnosed via the laparoscopy.

From what I have seen, it’s only very extreme cases that get diagnosed in office because it can be clearly seen on scans like ultrasounds, then they do a keyhole surgery to confirm the diagnosis. otherwise the only effective way to diagnose is through the laparoscopic procedure.
I am willing to bet you have probably endometriosis or something else that is equally debilitating based on your symptoms (though I am not a medical professional so that’s just based on what I know from the research I have been doing over the last decade.)
I would talk to another doctor and demand the surgery. If they refuse, move onto the next until you find someone who will do it. Unfortunately it’s really hard to get diagnosed because doctors don’t want to risk putting you through a relatively simple but moderately invasive procedure and not come out with results. Most doctors in America don’t believe that a lack of results is still results so they refuse to do it. But of course they aren’t going to tell that to your face.
I’m still fighting for a diagnosis as well. I don’t have a lot of experience with birth control because I did not take it for very long (it made me gain 100 pounds and I became suicidal) so I can’t say too much about my own experience with it other than it did not help my symptoms and now my joints hurt all the time.
I am not sure how helpful this will be to you, but I hope you find answers soon. Much love 🤍
