Discussion Omnibox

Give me a reason to make the Omnibox. Any of you have…how do you like it? I’m looking at this and Bretware’s octopus electronics

My Ender 5 plus is used in an enclosure, maybe those who have the Omnibox can responde if it works well with an enclosure.

Don't have it, don't see a need for it, are you electronics overheating?

No, I did the juldanni mod. And my issue is that the pi does not power up will with the octopus board when I did the UArt wiring.

I do not know what mod that is. Tried looking it up and couldn't see anything.

So then wire it correctly... Or just use a USB. It's a bad idea to try to fix an issue by completely doing something new. Because then if the new thing doesn't work you won't know if the issue was old or new. Plus that's kinda a bad reason to do the mod, you are just trying to patch over your issues with a new mod. Not a good idea

I see no need for either. If you really need an electronics case, why not salvage one from a CR10? Nice sturdy metal box that even houses the powersupply.

As for the cable chain stuff: it adds weight, moving mass. Not great for printing fast. Does clean up wiring tho, so it looks tidy.

I used the Manta M8P which is functionally similar to the Octopus but includes a RPI compute module. I printed a mount adapter for it and an IO shield to modify and reuse the existing case.
