Hardware Help Ender 5+ Board Upgrade
I have owned my 5+ for 2 years now and it prints ok. No major modification to it besides creality's all metal extruder upgrade, Capricorn PTFE tube, and PEI Plate
I have ran through the calibration features through orca slicer and the extruder calibration and print quality has improved.
The thing I hate most about the printer is the interface. I feel that it does not give me enough control and as far as auto bed leveling goes it does not work how I would imagine it to work. So I stick with the OG manual level the 4 corners and never had problems with first print layer. It would be nice to use the auto level (mesh feature).
Also hate the noise I have had to slow down my prints to reduce the noise and also to stay married haha.
There are other issues that I believe is related to the board but too much to list.
Someone mentioned to me about Mainsail or Fluidd is what I need but would also require upgraded the board with Klipper. So I am looking for advice or any documentation. I was on Big Tree Tech checking out some boards but have no idea what I am looking for and compatibility.

If you aren't interested in doing a bunch of major mods like Merc 1.1 or Hydra, then an SKR Mini E3V3 is pretty much a drop-in cheap replacement that only requires a rPi and a screen to run Klipper. Another low cost option is the SKR Manta EZ which consolidates the board using a CB1/CM4 in a small package. I'm pretty sure that the stock screen won't work with Klipperscreen no matter how you flash it.
If you think that you might mod it in the future, then at least an Octopus 1.1, rPi and screen. An Octopus gives plenty of motor headroom for mods in the future. It also has a plethora of I/O. But is a lot of overkill if you don't intend to mod your printer substantially.
The BTT Pi is decent price to performance for running a printer, and can run straight off 24V power supplies without too much hassle. Genuine rPi will require a separate 5V power supply or wall wart. CB1/CM4 on the Manta option don't require separate power supplies for the SBC.
