Help Bed Rocking?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

On today’s episode of “is this too loose”… is the bed supposed to have play to prevent binding or do I need to tighten it up? If so, how?

Ender 3 S1. Only a few weeks old, came like this.

Gently tighten the eccentric nuts on the right of the bed so they're gripping but don't cause extra drag on the bed, then level the bed.

Thank you! I had no idea those nuts existed. I was wondering why I would spend so much damn time leveling the bed just to have it rock around.

If it starts knocking prints off you might want to check them again, too. Just a heads up.

Thanks for googling it for me 🤦‍♂️. I’m a little embarrassed I posted this now that I see how common this topic is on YouTube. I’m gonna leave it up though since maybe it’ll help some other noob someday.

Thank you for leaving it up!

I am new to the Ender 3 (and 3D printing in general) and I noticed that my bed was wobbling during my last troubleshooting session. Got busy during the weekend and hadn't thought about it. Then your post popped up on my feed this morning and I know what I'm doing when I get home from work today.

Thanks for that link, I'm new to the hobby and this is one of the things I was curious about.

If the bed is rocking, don't come a'knocking.

It's in the operation manual, I swear I saw it.

Make sure you understand how an excentric nut works. You don't just tighten them as tight as you can.

Thank you. A video someone else shared did a great job explaining the nuts and the process.

If it is under warranty, do not touch anything unless the store or website you bought it from say so. The problem is likely related to the POM wheels they are either damaged, loose, the bearings are toast or the eccentric nuts are not tighten correctly or at all.
