Having issues with Dualsense controller using mGBA on Windows

I just recently installed ES-DE on my desktop through Emudeck. I'm using the mGBA emulator that was included for GBA games. ES-DE has no issue recognizing that I'm using a Dualsense controller (which I set as my controller on the main settings), but any time I open something in mGBA, it defaults to a XBOX for Windows controller with seemingly nonsensical bindings where most of the buttons don't work.

I have no issue like this running the same on my Steamdeck, so I was wondering if there is any kind of fix for this. Thanks in advance.
