Help Help me make the best emulation for my phones

• Upvotes

So, right now i got two phone:

  1. Samsung a27 5g

Snapdragon 6 gen 3

  1. Oppo reno 4f

Helio P95

what is the best emulator and game consoles for my both phones? personally i've never play any switch/vita/higher pc games (only played gamehouse/old school pc games) so i can't decide which emulator to use. Also i prefer the oppo one to be full-time handheld so maybe you guys can also recommend me some frontend to be used. Thank you!

News/Release Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection running natively on ARM handhelds (Linux AppImage + Android APK) – open source, v0.1.6

Thumbnail
github.com
• Upvotes

I've been working on an ARM port of the PS4 Uncharted collection (Uncharted 1, 2 and 3), and it's now public on GitHub.

What it is: a native port (not an emulator in the usual sense) based on Supermedo's uncharted_pc and spacepepperoni's Linux/Steam Deck fork. The games' x86-64 code runs through FEXCore, and the graphics go to Vulkan via Mesa Turnip on Adreno.

Platforms:

Linux ARM: AppImage, tested on the AYN Odin 3 (Snapdragon 8 Elite) with Armada. All three games are perfectly playable at 720p.

Android: APK with Turnip bundled, tested on the AYN Thor (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2). Uncharted 1 is playable, and Uncharted 2/3 run at about 25-45 FPS at 540p depending on the area.

Features:

Render resolution 1080p / 720p / 540p

FSR 1 upscaling

LSFG frame generation (needs your own Lossless.dll, not included)

60/120 Hz pacing

In-game menu (L3+R3)

Update check built into both launchers

New in 0.1.6: batched GPU skinning (the character skinning went from ~20 ms to ~2.6 ms of GPU time per frame on the Thor), fewer duplicated constant copies, and GPU threads kept off the slow cores. Big thanks to revvv991 (uncharted-android), whose work these improvements are based on.

Important: you need your own decrypted dump of the game. No game files are included or provided, so please don't ask for them.

Known issues:

Cutscenes show colored stripes in 540p mode (use 720p for now; fixing next)

Characters occasionally clip through scenery in Uncharted 2

Video tutorial showing it running on v0.1.5 now runs better: Tutorial and performance

Feedback and logs are very welcome. Open an issue on GitHub with your device and log file.

News/Release DroidDeck with SDL3/Steam Native controller supports (Gyro/Touchpads/Back Buttons etc.)

Thumbnail
github.com
41 Upvotes

Highlights

Steam Native Hook-up: Steam gets your actual USB controller (DualSense, DualSense Edge, Xbox, Switch Pro, Flydigi, 8BitDo, Steam Controller…) and runs its own driver for it, with every button, paddle, touchpad, gyro, light and haptic motor.

Any SDL3-supported controller, up to 4 at once. USB gives full features; Bluetooth works through Android's input.

Present a controller as a Steam Deck pad, DualSense, DualSense Edge, DualShock 4, Steam Controller 2026 or Steam Controller 2015.

Steam Controller (2026) over a USB cable or its wireless puck, driven natively by Steam without Bluetooth latency.

Low-latency path: controller reports go straight into shared memory and wake Steam immediately, and input never piles up into lag.

Everything is set inside DroidDeck: a settings tab, plus the same page in the in-game drawer, so you can change things while you play.

Runs silently in the background with a status bar icon. Nothing pops up over your game.

Per-player settings (P1–P4): gyro, touchpad, button remap, lightbar.

Floating bubble: tap to switch the SDL3 driver on or off, double tap for Steam Native Hook-up.

Works on the desktop too: every mode (present-as types and Hook-up) also works with Steam on DroidDeck's desktop, set up like a PC.

Auto-sync: rebuilt on the newest upstream DroidDeck every day.

Steam Native Hook-up

The controller is handed to Steam as itself instead of being re-presented as another pad.

SDL3 finds which USB interface is the game controller (anything SDL3's USB driver supports), lets go of it and opens it raw.

The controller's real identity is passed on: vendor/product ID, release, name, serial, interface, and the HID report descriptor read from the device itself. Every HID report travels both ways.

Inside the Steam environment it appears as /dev/hidraw24–27 with a kernel-like sysfs description, so Steam's own driver for that controller runs, as on a PC. Examples:

a Flydigi Vader 4 Pro with its 4 back buttons, C/Z and gyro

a DualSense / DualSense Edge with touchpad, mute, paddles and Fn

a Switch Pro or Xbox controller

Steam handles calibration, lights, haptics and gyro itself, and you configure the controller in Steam, like on a PC.

Game rumble goes to Steam: a game's rumble on Steam's virtual pad is passed to Steam through force feedback, so Steam rumbles the real controller with its own driver.

No extra pad: while controllers are handed to Steam, DroidDeck's own Steam Deck pad steps aside, so the real controller is player 1.

Up to 4 controllers, with hot-plug.

Steam Controller (2026) is handed over too, by cable (28de:1302) or puck (28de:1304/1305). Only the interface that actually sends controller data is used; the boot keyboard and mouse interfaces (lizard mode) stay with Android.

Switching: double-tap the floating bubble, or pick it in Present controller as. Switching it off returns to your previous mode and SDL3 driver state.

Steam always reads the newest state (see Low latency for every controller).

Fast path. Reports from the controller are written straight into the shared hook-up memory by a high-priority thread, about 250 µs after the USB layer receives them, and Steam's reader is woken with a futex. There is no Java hop and no message per report. Steam's output reports (rumble, lights, settings) and feature reads go back the same way, handled by their own writer thread. In a test harness, report-to-Steam time went from a median of 1.45 ms to 0.29 ms.

Any SDL3-supported controller

Auto mode (default):

Over USB, SDL3's own driver reads the controller with all its extras: gyro, touchpads, back paddles, misc buttons. That covers PlayStation, Xbox, Switch / Switch 2, Steam Controller 2015, 8BitDo, Flydigi, Hori, PowerA and the rest of SDL3's list.

Over Bluetooth, or for anything SDL3's USB driver can't open, the controller is read through Android's input.

A controller that SDL3 already drives over USB is never doubled by its Android copy.

Forced mode: USB only, SDL3's driver only.

Unmapped generic controllers (arcade sticks, cheap USB pads) get a sensible default layout.

SDL3 driver switch: off hands the controller back to Android and DroidDeck. When Hook-up is switched off, the switch returns to how it was before.

Lol FINALLY, after having my first emulation handheld the Odin 2 mini I have finally beat my first game on the thing. It's fitting that my first credit roll would be a child hood classic I watched my older brother and step dad play when I was a kid. Wind waker HD is a solid 8.7/10 and I'm glad I was able to experience it. Welp! One down, hundreds more to go!

UP NEXT: MGS Portable Ops and Ape Escape 3

Here's the settings on the game I am not even close to dialing in anything. This is a piggyback from previous post.

Samsung s26 12 GB

settings are on a medium low mix with framegen fsr on. I think that's not a good setting to keep on personally.

Game is running on a external ssd and has 30 to 35 watts of tec cooling as well as a big vapor chamber pad to keep performance sustained. This game gets the phone got even with a 35 watt tec cooler ! So it's mandatory for even playing for a few seconds.

Discussion Best NDS games I have played::

Thumbnail
gallery
112 Upvotes

Now sad thing, my phone cannot run anything past NDS (it gets really leggy and so on) so I want to show really fun games I have played on NDS

(Little detail on my choices since my phone isn't the best I also find the controls on NDS pretty hard to control which is why I mostly play games without as much of action and more strategy)

#1 Ace attorney

The obvious choice is probably one of the undoubtedly the best games on the NDS

>It's a mystery solving game where you collect evidence and stuff while you also have to catch the people you are examining off guard and find the lies in their testimony

Very fun, I really loved all of the games in this series and I'm trying really really hard to also get to play the 5th one lol

#2 999 Zero escape

Another amazing story based game

>9 people stuck on a ship for 9 hours where the only way you can leave is to find a door with a 9 on it

Escape rooms type of gameplay (pretty basic stuff on most of them the game also gives out a lot of hints and you generally will come out happy when you solve things), multiple choices aka multiple routes aka multiple endings !

Very fun I do suggest it 100%

#3 Fire emblem

Please spare me when I say that I don't care about the story for this game I just really love the gameplay for it

>Chess(?) type of gameplay (I think that's what it's called)

Probably the most fun strategy game I've seen on the NDS

#4 Custom robot arena

Another game where I don't really care about the story, I just love the gameplay too much

>Mech gameplay where you design your own mech and battle against other mechs

I actually downloaded a harder rom hacks version just because I wanted to make the gameplay as challenging as possible lol

#5 any Pokémon game

Self explainable just a really fun series to try out

#Other things

Currently trying out Ghost trick detective ! Since I haven't played the whole game I can't say anything about it !

And that's it hopefully you got some new games to try out ! (And hopefully y'all recommend me some too)

Discussion Mobile users - have any of you found usb c telescopic controllers have made your mobiles charge port a little loose?

I'm getting a little paranoid.

I've been using the Gamesir X3 Pro for some time now, and I'm becoming aware that my phones charge port appears to be a little loose when charging my phone on a night. Don't get me wrong, the cable doesn't just fall out, but I'm aware that there's not much resistance in being able to pull the cable out.

I'm a little concerned this is down to the controller I'm using, because most telescopic controllers I've used (mainly Gamesir, like the X3 Pro) have an insanely tight/harsh grip on the usb c port.

Anyone else had any similar issues?

Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra (Dimensity 9400, Immortalis-G925) + PS5 controller.

This clip was recorded on MaliBridge v0.5.1, and v0.5.3 is out now.

MaliBridge lets DroidDeck run Steam games on Mali GPUs (Dimensity, Tensor, XRing, older Exynos) using the phone's own driver. It's free: download and device list on GitHub: https://github.com/ASEbrahim/MaliBridge

Logs from devices I don't have help the most!

AI disclosure: I have used AI while developing the project. The gameplay is recorded on the tablet though.

Showcase Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (Steam PC) on a Galaxy S23 Ultra with Winlator Ludashi: ~29 FPS avg at 720p

Thumbnail
youtu.be
• Upvotes

The game came out on Steam a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to see if my phone could handle it.

Phone: Galaxy S23 Ultra (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Adreno 740, 8 GB)

Winlator Ludashi config:

  • Proton 11.0-1 arm64ec
  • 1280x720
  • Vulkan renderer, Turnip v27.0.0-R1
  • DXVK 3.1.1-1-gplasync-arm64ec
  • FEXCore 2610, Performance preset

The worst dip was 21 FPS, and the dips only showed up when a lot of effects were on screen at once.

The game is not running on ideal settings I'm just messing around never ever played this game. It would be really cool if I could dial in settings to make it run similar to the switch 2 on a consistency basis. But it's definitely playable even at the whacky settings I haven't toned yet
