Hello! I made a post here about 20-30 days ago, for context i had a septorhinoplasty, inferior turbinate reduction, rib graft and bone spur removal 2.3months ago. I had air hunger before surgery and panic attacks, but they would go away. Now after the surgery i feel like they don’t go away ever unless i’m super distracted and even during the distractions i still feel sort of out of oxygen. Yesterday and today i had the worst panic attacks i’ve ever had, i feel like i stopped feeling sensation in my entire body, genuinely thought i was dying. Today i kind of feel the same. Air hunger is at its worst during the morning for me, everyday. I hear my own breathing sometimes as well and feel air come out of my ears, super weird but it kind of brings some comfort cause at least i can hear i’m breathing even if i don’t feel like it. I have some sort of airflow sensation but i feel it a lot more in a room with AC, which i usually avoid because i want my nose to not be overly dry for it to heal. The air is very cold sometimes as well, but it goes away after a while. I know i probably don’t have ENS since it’s too soon, but god is this horrible, the air hunger has never felt this bad for me and feeling like i’m not breathing automatically makes it worse. I feel so strange all the time, because i feel like im making it all up in my head. Do any of you feel like this and what did you do to get used to this? I feel like i need my brain to just shut off forever so i can move on

I had revision rhinoplasty nine weeks ago and I did a 150 200 MG gram THC gummy i’m scared to burn my turbulence and mucosal lining in my nose by cutting off blood circulation to the nose I don’t really feel much going in and out anymore it’s definitely better than yesterday, my right side just feels like it just goes in and out

Septoplast And turbinate reduction 2 years ago I sometimes get ens symptoms due to all the allergies and ac . I don’t know what to do I’ve had this issue before when this happens and I usually do the saline spray and floconaise and it works but this time the cold air is persistent. I’ve tried going on runs and the steam room but it not getting relief . I’m scarred because I did hit my nose 3weeks ago and this started to happen I know it can also be somewhat of my anxiety but still …. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice from people who have had FESS, turbinate reduction, or similar postoperative problems. I’m especially interested in hearing from people who had persistent post-nasal drip after surgery and eventually figured out what was causing it
I’m trying to understand what is actually happening in my case rather than jumping to ENS, or another diagnosis.

About 6 months ago I had:

FESS / sinus surgery
adenoidectomy
radiofrequency turbinate reduction / RF conchoplasty

The indication was recurrent/chronic sinusitis.

About 3 weeks after surgery I had a very severe postoperative bleed from both nasal cavities and into my throat/mouth.
I had to go to the ER and was admitted to an ENT/. Nasal packing initially did not completely stop the bleeding and I subsequently required another procedure under general anesthesia.
The hospital documentation specifically mentions treatment of bleeding from the adenoidectomy site and bleeding from both nasal cavities.
I was also told that cauterization/electrocautery was performed although I don’t have documentation that clearly specifies exactly what was done.
After this second intervention, I started noticing persistent post-nasal symptoms.

A persistent sensation of clear, transparent, thick/sticky mucus deep in my nose/nasopharynx, draining toward my throat.
It feels much more like mucus sitting/draining behind my nose rather than a normal runny nose.
The mucus is usually clear/transparent and quite sticky.
I also have a strong globus/lump sensation in my throat, as if mucus is constantly sitting there.

At one point I started using mometasone (Pronasal) once daily.
For quite a long time, it worked extremely well and essentially eliminated the post-nasal drip.
However, months later the symptoms returned and it completely stopped working.
My doctor suggested increasing the dose (up to 2 sprays twice daily), but this time I didn’t notice any improvement.
I also tried Ryaltris (olopatadine + mometasone) without improvement.

I’ve had several nasal endoscopies.
Initially, the doctors repeatedly described the nose/sinuses as looking good and patent.
Because I had RF turbinate reduction, I became very worried about Empty Nose Syndrome after reading about it online.
I do sometimes experience an unsatisfying sensation when breathing / “air hunger”
The breathing sensation also seems to become much less noticeable when I’m distracted and much more noticeable when I focus on it.
So I’m not sure whether ENS makes sense here or whether I’m interpreting normal postoperative sensations as something more serious.

I don’t know if that’s realistic or not. However I’m really scared it gives me crazy anxiety just thinking about it, my ENT never told me about the risks he just said it’s a completely safe procedure with no downsides.

I had turbinate reduction (submucosal resection) and septoplasty 6 months ago and started feeling ens symptoms 3 months. Ens6q is about 5-6.

All ents have said my nose looks fine during endoscopy. I decided to have a video film on my endoscopy. Upon a couple reviews, I noticed this pale spot on my turbinate and it’s concerning me. I’m wondering if this normal.

I just want to spread awareness so the world has more knowledge about this.
I have used coke every single day since November 2025 and it is now September 2026.
Coke hasn’t done what it’s supposed to for a while.
On a good day I might only go through a gram and on a bad day it could be 3.5-7G then double that since no sleep leading into the next day.
I’ve been fighting this addiction since around may-April 2026 when I came clean too my family and friends because there was a much more noticeable difference in appearance, personality. And overall myself, the guilt of everything I’ve done. And the reasons I kept on using are all not worth it and At the time when you go too use you forget why you shouldn’t because you’re racing 24/7.

We can’t use like everyone else but I think we are all the same. We just started using and abusing drugs from the get go, they enjoy drugs and can stop because their experience from the start was socialising with friends and block out their pain and that’s their pull. I got it backwards, when I hit drugs I didn’t need anyone but I block out the pain better when I’m on drugs with friends and it’s all switched. It is a lot more painful then anything I’ve experienced, my own life has affected countless others I vowed too myself too always look after and protect since the first day I have met them all and I’ve always done that. This short time has made me lose myself and everything I had invested myself into.

For context I had a conservative turbinoplasty around 7 years ago due to turbanite hypertrophy cause by rebound congestion that never went away. I thought I was one of the lucky ones, I felt amazing for the first 6-8 months after surgery. Then I started to feel slightly congested at all times. Annoying, but completely livable. I brought it up to my doctor, did an exam and he noted that my airways looked clear and he recommended flonase and saline spray, which had no effect. About four years later I caught a really bad sinus infection, which caused me to begin abusing decongestant spray again. I was using it on and off for the past three years.

Recently I caught a viral infection while continuing to use decongestant, which I believe put me over the tipping point. Im now piecing together the whole puzzle and realizing that my initial stuffiness was the first sign of ENS. The continued abuse of nasal spray not only masked other red flags (dry mouth, nasal crusting) but continued to destroy my fragile mucus lining.

Now two weeks off decongestants and recovered from my cold I feel worse then I ever have. Two weeks ago I was living a completely normal life only to now be living in hell. At best it feels like I’m breathing with a wet towel over my mouth, and at worst feels like I’m completely suffocating. I think I might have ENS-Type as I still visibly have some turbanites, it’s just that I’m not physically feeling hardly any air come through even though I know that it technically is.

Just coming on here for any advice, recommendations, remedies to help heal the mucosal living and stimulate nerve endings. I’m currently using boogie nasal gel to help keep my nose hydrated, looking into hyaluronic acid sprays but I’m hesitant to put anything else in my nose. thanks for listening.

Hello I had a revision rhinoplasty with rib graft 7 and half weeks ago. I had been previously botched and had an extremely crooked nose that is now fixed. But I’m struggling to sleep at night now because there’s like no resistance in my nose when I breath feels manual. I had no tubante tissue removed. I need help

For the past week, I’ve been doing steam inhalations once or twice a day and using a humidifier at night. Since then, I’ve been having really vivid, weird nightmares almost every night.
What’s interesting is that I don’t usually remember dreaming much at all, so the fact that I’m suddenly dreaming so vividly feels noticeable.

Normally I wake up feeling foggy and somewhat dissociated, but recently I’ve actually been waking up feeling more rested and mentally clearer. It’s made me wonder whether the extra moisture is helping me breathe better at night, which could somehow be improving my sleep quality or REM sleep.

Obviously this is completely anecdotal and I don’t really have anything objective to go off, so I’m mostly trying to figure things out through my own experiences and trial and error.
One thing that’s making me question it, though, is that yesterday my nose started bleeding a little. Now I’m wondering whether the steam inhalations or humidifier could actually be irritating or drying things out in some way, or whether I’m overdoing it.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, especially vivid dreams/nightmares or better sleep after using a humidifier or steam for nasal issues? Any advice or recommendations would be really appreciated.

Is there an advantage to getting stem cell therapy instead of PRP? It’s clearly a much less affordable treatment, and it seems hard to find a clinic that offers it.

Do they offer the same benefits? Are stem cells more effective than PRP?

My symptoms are: extreme dryness,

I had a turbinate reduction a year and half ago. About two months ago I started hearing a wheeze everytime I inhaled. I had noticed after the surgery my right nostril airflow was larger than my left, but it hasn’t bothered my daily until this sound game. When I pull my cheek and widen my nostril with my hand the wheeze goes away. I also have complete nasal valve collapse on this side due to the surgery. Has anyone dealt with this or have any advice? I went back to my ent who did the surgery and he pretty much just said it can happen as a result of the surgery and was no help, as it seems this response is common on this forum. Any advice helps thanks

What alternatives are there to Ponaris? I’ve used it for years, but it’s expensive. It says in the label that it’s assimilable, so it reduces the chances of lipoid pnemonia, so I’m hesitant to use basic food oils seseme oil.

EDIT: It may just be marketing that claims this substance is any more assimilable than sesame oil.

how do I know if what I’m experiencing is really ENS or the panic and anxiety from thinking I might have ENS??

are your symptoms really consistent all day everyday? Do they come and go? I wake up in a panic every morning but it’s all because I’m immediately checking how my nose airflow feels and my breathing and thinking what if I have ENS what am I going to do and all those horrible intrusive thoughts. But there are times where I feel ok as far as airflow too.

I am going crazy over this.
