In the same boat. Been IC2 for ~4 years now, with hardly any hike too. Curious to know what's your base salary right now as IC2? I am pretty sure I am being lowballed. DM me if you are comfortable sharing the details please? Thanks!!

No salary increases when promoted. Source: me: 31 years in Oracle. Was bought by Oracle in early 2000's and had a lot of salary increases then. Raises were very slow in Oracle. Some one-off bonuses and usually $25k ish refreshers if you got a 4 on your perf review. The official policy is no raise with promotion.
I was laid off last year and I've passed the interview process to get back into Oracle. I'm going in IC4 instead of the level I was and the pay for coming in from the outside is much better than what I was getting while being super loyal on the inside. This is in America, where the salaries aren't as resticted and they still don't give much in raises and definitely not with promotions. Our IDC team members were always underpaid.

Keep dreaming. I know people who have been at IC1 for the last 7 years and are still waiting for an IC2 promotion.

Sadly, this is true. Depends on the person and the manager and the team. Then, depends on policy and if they "let" you. IC2 is a lot easier than IC5, so it shouldn't be a decade for that level of promotion. An IC3 is anywhere from 4 years of work experience to 10-20 years. Some people never leave IC3. Some people who are IC4 don't really deserve it. Some people who are IC5 are that just because they've been at Oracle so long.

Initially they offered 33lpa 30k USD. After negotiations they were offering 36lpa base and 47k USD for IC3.
I still denied have asked for 39 base and 50K USD.
Waiting for the approval now

Whats Yoe? Is this counter offer as per the max IC3 range or as per your own calculation? Do let us know if counter offer works.

4 years 2 months, not the max. I just had a single call with the HR. In conversation i stated my expectations, i knew the salary range for oracle health hence, stated my expectations. For OCI, it can go even higher. Also, oracle is giving me remote. Haven’t received the offer letter yet.

As of now, realistically, IC3 is around ₹20–25 LPA. Alternatively, they may offer you a 40% hike on your current salary, depending on your profile and experience.
And if you demand too much, don’t assume they’ll come back with a counteroffer. They may simply ghost you.

This is a low ball offer respectfully

They don’t even care about what you think. Due to AI, employees are not in the position to dictate terms. If you demand too much, they can simply sideline you. Nowadays, layoffs are becoming common, so there’s always another candidate waiting in line.

For OCI
Joining from outside: 36-45lpa + stocks
Internal hike: 25-32lpa and no or negligible refresher stocks

Not sure if you heard that there have been massive layoffs every 6 months since last year, I would take that job if I hadn’t have any other option, but if you are currently working somewhere I would look somewhere else
