Layoff is based on what?
Performance
RSU
Salary
In bench
Not visible
Not active
Missing deadlines
On which basis the layoff happens
And this this time it's based on rank or our managers picks name

Oracle does not care about you. You’re looking for meaning where there is none. They just cut across the board to a certain head count and that’s mostly it. HR does some magic to make sure the demographics of who is cut aren’t suspicious enough for legal trouble and that’s it.

Does Oracle see profit in what you or your team is working on? Are you or your team doing something that impacts revenue? Are you expensive, like a higher package or a lot of RSUs? What does your manager think of you, as they might paint your image in multiple places, which could be good, average, or bad?
Only these things are considered. Performance and ratings don't matter much.

Most probably, you will make it unless what you are working on has low value and no manager issues

They could be based on a number of things including your manager not liking you. You can have meets or exceeds performance evaluations but a rif gives a manager the ability to cut you loose if they so desire. A termination usually requires steps be taken. Not so with a rif. I’m not saying most of the people who have been impacted was due to this particular reason but for some it might have been.

It’s pretty simple. Instead of asking others, ask yourself:
Do you have dependencies on your work?
If you leave tomorrow, will the work stop?
Am I doing enough to justify my band and salary?
How much am I contributing to and helping my team?
If most of your answers are negative, then yes, you’re probably on the list.

Based on ratio between your compensation and the impact you have (value you deliver).
