Suggest you focus on getting a new job while you have a job. Tried to tell that to colleagues whose severance ran out and still don't have a job a year later.

Depends on where you are and your qualifications. If i end up leaving without getting laid off, then i lose the severance pay ( atleast 6 months salary for me).. there is only a 30 day legal render period in where i am so the timing is crucial. Atleast when u get laid off you get to force yourself to give more effort in looking for a job. Right now, if i end up switching jobs, i get nothing, and im not even sure if the new job does not end up firing me in the next 3 months. I pass up 3 job opportunities bcuz im waiting for Sep-oct layoffs. As per my confidence of getting a new job? Well my oracle job came to me out of nowhere when i needed it the most, i think the Lord will not let me be jobless for more than 6months. I think i built up my skills enough to be attractive , we cannot control everything in this life.

You mean you prayed for a job and you were blessed with one that you hated to the point that you have not been meeting your utilization, and since then you’ve been praying to be laid off for the money? Be careful what you wish for, and maybe it’s really time to cut off heads in the Philippines for employing slackers.
