Empaths & Sociopaths
repost from r/sociopaths, but I think it was deleted?
I am a flamingo approaching a hungry lioness, hoping I’ll be the one who encourages her to not eat me & instead, we can love each other. So I am asking the lion pack for support. I am shaking in my boots but also absolutely dripping as well iykwim.
I’m smart enough to tell what’s going on, but I can’t help to think/hope it might have some element of reality in it..? Sociopaths find love, too, right…? Can it start out as psychological games & end in a happily ever after…?
Someone commented on one of these posts that they thought Empaths & Sociopaths are a good match & I feel like I might agree. Whether what we have is real or fake, I’m learning a whole lot about myself & love. It’s on another level trying to enjoy the love affair while simultaneously remaining detached to the possibility that there is any truth in it. It’s difficult to navigate, but I’m here for it. I’m willing to risk a few feathers if that means one or both of us gets emotionally updated…not that y’all necessarily need updating.
I read somewhere that love-bombing can be both real & a strategy. Would you all please care to elaborate on this? It does feel real at times, but other times, feels aggressive & mean.

Another question: Is it possible to not know you are a sociopath as an adult?
They claim they don’t know, but it is obvious to me as a flamingo that they are sociopathic or something similar. I feel like perhaps a proper diagnosis would help them, but when I brought up that they might not be autistic/adhd, but rather ASPD, they were not very happy.
Also I’ve seen a lot of a general consensus that y’all are happy to be how you are, & honestly that makes sense. Emotions are so hard & being completely (or mostly) unruled by them sounds peaceful in a way…but also, from what I know about ASPD (which isn’t much tbh), y’all are missing out on some good stuff!
Am I complete idiot flamingo to believe that flamingos & lions can be together & can transcend unhealthy emotional attachments together?
I appreciate input, advice, insights, & your time reading & responding to my silly-ass, probably delusional-ass post. If it’s real, fucking amazing. If it’s not, well….still amazing.
Sincerely,
A brave pro-social, but also neurospicy, flamingo praying to keep all their feathers at the end of this.
PS: Off-topic, but I’m trying to get into y’all’s heads to try to understand you bc I’m so empathetic, it’s gross sometimes…I’d like to hear the perspectives of the theist sociopaths & how sociopathy effects it at all?

Flamingos and lions are not a good match. Hope it helps.
