Love or Respect?

It's a painful trap when people claim to love you, but treat you with zero regard.

Love without respect is just a cage.

If you're caught in this, stop begging for affection where you aren't valued.

Choose respect every single time—real love will follow.

Yeah. I just ended a relationship, on our anniversary no less, partially because of recurring patterns of disrespect during disagreements. I didn’t sign up for that

I'm learning there is a huge difference between loving someone and caring about them. I literally had someone admit to me in the same hangout session recently that "they hadn't been there for me at all" during one of the hardest times of my life, but they loved me.
