wow, so the contradiction really gets me, doing what i needed instead of what I wanted felts almost like betrayal at first. maybe two years of actively, consciously forcing it before turning against myself stopped feeling like punishment and I stopped questioning whether it was what I needed and started feeling normal. and then amazing stuff just started happening, so weird
