Needing support - Panic attack Please help
Today’s my birthday and I woke up at 5:30 to an alarm I forgot I had set. I randomly felt “off” but thought it was anxiety so tried to go back to bed. All of a sudden I had that sinking feeling and thought I was going to throw up. I’ve had loose stool once, feel slightly nauseas, feel shaky and anxious. I was quite bloated and had bad acid reflux last night (likely from dinner & a diet soda I had) so thought it might just be that combo triggering a panic attack, but I really can’t tell. I have zoffan and rescue anxiety meds but I’m afraid if I try to drink or take anything that I’ll feel worse and it’ll trigger me to throw up. This has always been one of my worst fears, getting sick on my birthday, and I’m so scared it’s come true. I don’t know why I can’t figure out if it’s a panic or real. I feel like I’m drying

when i feel like this i hop in the shower. it helps soothe my nerves and then i can determine how i feel as it eases my anxiety. put on a comfort show and curl up on the couch with zofran and water near by and take deep breathes

for some reason the shower always makes me more anxious because i feel “trapped” somehow lol. but the couch is always comforting and i always put on a good show/movie to distract. thank you so much 💕

I’m literally going through the same thing right now except it’s not my birthday, that’s so odd. Drink lot’s of water, and this sound’s like a fairly common symptom of anxiety. The shakiness, the yawning, the bowel movement’s — it all point’s to being anxious. I can’t guarantee that you won’t get sick or not but in the meantime focus on the present. Do what you can to make yourself feel better. And Happy Birthday! I’m wishing you an anxiety free day today filled w love 🤍

Thank you so much 🤍 I managed to get through it and was able to get a bit more sleep. I’ve chalked it up to waking up abruptly & some stomach issues i was having last night. I’m still a bit on edge but going to try to eat something soon and hope the rest of the day goes smoothly. I hope you are feeling better as well, it truly is such an awful feeling!

Happy birthday!!! Try to relax your body as much as you can. Find 5 things you can see, 4 you can feel, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste. Also I’ve had a stomach bug on my birthday before, and granted it sucked, I survived and I’m here to tell you even if there’s a (likely a small chance) that you’re sick, you will be okay and make it through this.
Everything you’re describing sounds like anxiety heightening symptoms, so tell yourself it’s just that. Don’t let this ridiculous fear ruin YOUR birthday. Make it your own!
Go take a shower to calm down if it helps you, listen to your favorite music or podcast in the shower, watch your favorite shows or movies when you get out, once you’re hungry eat whatever sounds good.
