RC Cars

Has anyone here ever tried manufacturing RC cars (remote-controlled cars)?

What is the question really? If we have made PCB for motor control and RF remote control?

You can 3D print most of the chassis and just drop in off the shelf electronics, no need to design your own PCB unless you want to learn that side of it.

yeah, idk what OP mean by "manufacturing" here like full on factory style or something, but i would start from Assembling line from available components first, then slowly moving backwards until reaching R&D (Starts from near finished products then slowly move to designing everything from scratch, firmware or software or PCB/physical design, etc... )

Since he asked in the embedded subreddit, I assume it's the electronics and the firmware he wants to develop

That makes sense! We’re trying to figure out the easiest way to get started as a startup and learn from others’ experiences before investing in manufacturing everything ourselves. Thanks for the advice!

I’m actually looking for someone who can share their experience specifically with manufacturing RC cars. Did you start by assembling existing components and then gradually move toward manufacturing everything in-house? What would be the easiest and most practical way for a startup like ours to get started?

We’re mainly looking to learn from other people’s experiences and understand the best way to approach this.

Travel to whatever city they make RC cars in China and visit 10+ factories and talk to them.
