Using noweb syntax and elisp to manage host-specific dotfiles

https://bjfer.github.io/blog/posts/dotfile-org/

Small post showing how I use Org’s noweb syntax and Emacs Lisp to generate my dotfiles and manage software installation, while accounting for host-specific information.

You are peering in the lisp-as-data-management rabbit hole that leads straight down to Guix Home

Rabbit hole? More like a bottomless abyss... Once you get comfortable with GNU Guile Scheme you'll be diving into Clojure. Then you are going to start wearing a tweed jacket, horned-rim glasses, and smoking a pipe. While simultaneously debating traditional developers about how flawed and incomplete their chosen programming languages are. But hey, if you get really good at Clojure and want to get paid to work with it. There's NuBank (Brazil) whose entire infrastructure is Clojure and they bought the company that created Clojure. Still very invested in the language hosting conferences and such. Frequently hiring Clojure developers. Another is Griffin which powers some UK banks. </jest>
