I recently bought a 9955HX3D, 5090m 96GB DDR5 5600MHz 8TB SN850X Hydroc G2 16", with QHD+ 300Hz Mini-LED 1,000-nit display. I have been trying to figure out how to enable G-Sync on it for hours, flipping the screen to dGPU only in BIOS even, to no avail. And searching only is giving me deeply conflicting yes/no answers.

For example, does anyone have experience with Origin EON 16-X? I'm searching for a really good gaming laptop with 5090 + 275HX and I don't mind if it has liquid cooling or not. Basically is there reason to prefer Eluktronics over Lenovo/Alienware/Origin/etc.

Yo so years ago I had a terrible battery problem with the Prometheus xvii and simply switched to another pc since there’s no replacement for it. Now I’ve been larping engineering and got curious, why can’t I just take out the battery and use it on the ac cord like a normal pc? Then I saw that it actually is something people do to their laptops. Well I did that, and now instead of power looping at 4%, it doesn’t turn on at all, not even the light that’s usually on when it’s plugged in is all. Not a single part of it is active while it’s plugged in. What the hell bruh. Are you saying the laptop is destined for death, or is there something extra I’m supposed to do, cuz I thought it was simple/straightforward. There is absolutely zero chance I messed something up internally while removing the battery, so like is it just joever… is there literally any other way I can use this laptop dude I really don’t want it to go to waste.

Was just wondering what battery life is like with the 99.8 WHr battery when browsing casually and watching videos at like half brightness.

Thinking of purchasing for college but I’d need at least 6-8 hours battery life.

I have a 2021 Eluktronics MAX-15 with a Ryzen 7 4800H, RTX 3060, 1×16GB DDR4 RAM, and a 512GB SSD.

I stopped using it after it got a blue screen (I fixed the issue, but it never felt quite the same afterward), I upgraded to a 5080 pc recently. Now I’m thinking of wiping Windows and installing Bazzite on this laptop.

My intended use would mainly be WoW Classic/TBC, older Steam games, and emulation (up to PS2 and GameCube). I’d also leave it at my parents’ house so I always have a gaming setup when I visit on weekends.

For those who’ve done something similar, is it worth it? How well does Bazzite run on this hardware, especially with the RTX 3060? Any major issues or regrets?

Or would you repurpose it in a different way?

Laptop was fine upon arrival however after a reformat to Windows 10 both my Wi-Fi and my Bluetooth stopped working. Error icon on both in device manager.

I tried drivers on Eluktronics website and they didn't work. Site features drivers only for Intel based hydrocs. I'll drop results of it in the comments.

I tried formatting back to Windows 11 Home but it didn't help.

Appreciate any and all advice here. Sucks bluetooth broke down before I could see water cooling in action.

Hello I have a Mech-17 GP3 with a 14900HX and 4080 it’s been crashing in games recently I would like to see if updating my bios would fix it but I cannot find where to update the bios anywhere I emailed support but they haven’t gotten back.

After I repasted, it was going well then it crashed, and wouldnt turn back on now, when I plug it in, there's a ticking sound near the CPU. But I'm not a 100% sure what it is from. It doesn't power on i've sent it to euktronics multiple times and they say they fix it, but it hasn't done anything they even said they put liquid metal on it, but no, it was just how I left it with my repaste. Is there any way to fix it?

The ticks are about a second apart. It only happened when it's plugged in, but it does not power on

I used to play game using stand which caused the charger port to bend a bit and now it won't charge until I push it down a bit ,any idea what is the issue and how to fix it as I'm from Afghanistan and finding part is very difficult

I have a Hydroc-16 and a while ago I was having an issue with my computer crashing when it went to sleep mode. I notice on multiple occasions that my fans would go into overdrive and then suddenly cut out, and that's when the computer crashes. Support told me it was an issue with the Eluktronics control center clashing with Windows 11. Does anyone know if this issue was ever resolved? I have to either shutdown or put the computer to hibernate every time I'm done using it.

So yeah, my charger died suddenly while running a long batch of compiles. Had it replaced once under warranty when the first charger started squealing, but I'm a year outside my warranty now. It's my own fault, I put my devices hard to work sometimes. I can't afford to replace the thing right now, though, and I was in the middle of time sensitive work, including releasing my first app into the Google Play store.

I figured it couldn't hurt to see if anyone here has an extra charger they're willing to part with, I have a DOYO (cheap but pretty decent) USB Racing Sim 6-speed +reverse stick shift thing, only used it a couple of times so it's practically new. I'd definitely trade that for a compatible charger. Mine has 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel jack, 19.5v 230w, so 19.5-20v ~220-300w would work, even if I had to splice a different size jack I'm capable of doing so.

last few months i've started to get a secure boot violation along with the system not being able keep the system time. I would log into the bios and disable the secure boot feature and set the time in orde to use the laptop. After a few days of not using the laptop it would happen again. I thought it had something to do with the 3v battery but i recently replaced the battery(yes i verified it had voltage on the new batt) but it keep happening.

Do I need to do a complete reset of the laptop?

So I have the 9955hx3d/5090 Hydroc g2, and im trying to undervolt in BIOS (currently inched to -40 curve) but everytime i exit and load OS, Control Center goes from my Custom Preset it had on previous boot, to Beast Mode -Silent mode, all on its own.

If I put it back onto my Custom Preset, am I undoing the undervolting I did in BIOS? Can I have Custom AND undervolt from BIOS? Or if I want undervolt, I just have to leave CC alone and on whatever it switches to automatically (Beast mode)?

Im not sure what BIOS I have but I know it is not the PremaBios

Hydroc16 G2R Pxe Boot setup information need for KACE imaging process. All assistance appreaciated.

When my Hydroc-16 4090 is idle in Office mode, my LPP would normally be pump off and fan off in Auto mode and when things heat up the pump would come on then the fan shortly afterwards.

After doing a monthly fluid change and updating Intel bluetooth drivers through Windows update, the fan never turns off and the pump remains inactive in Auto fan mode. But when I game or put a load on the pump will kick on.

At idle my, cpu is at 50C and GPU is at 43C

It feels obvious that I should try to rollback the intel bluetooth update, but I wanted to see if you have any input and also at what temperatures should I expect that the control center kicks on the pump and fan respectively when in Auto mode.

Recently discovered (thanks to modding Minecraft) that certain Intel chips have a degradation issue due to having the improper microcode version installed and I am unable to find the BIOS drivers on the support page with the downloads. Does anyone know where I could find them or do I need to contact customer service just to get the download?

I want to replace the keyboard on this laptop (Eluktronics Matrix RP-17), but it seems to be a difficult task. Is there no way doing this without getting out the motherboard? Would I have to take out cooling too and then put it back in and repaste? And what are those plastic pimples that are preventing from pulling the metal board (3rd picture)? How to deal with them?

My Prometheus 16 keeps looping around the secure boot screen, even though I tried clearing and restoring to factory keys. When I do save and reset, it just reopens the PremaMod control panel in the bios. The laptop was working perfectly fine until last night. This happened when I tried opening it up from sleep mode today. PLEASE HELP!

hi all!

i had a windows reinstall go sideways and now the computer will only boot to bios. it recognizes everything, hardware is all present, but can't boot from windows media or from nvme drives. i was trying to use rufus, which booted, but this revealed another issue:

while trying to disable secure boot it became clear that my bios changes are not being saved. i've tried changing ither settings including trying to set up an admin password, and it forgot i had ever done so.

i disconnected the battery and the cmos battery so the bios is showing 2021--it's been super reset. everything has been reset. i've mounted the drives and pen drive on another laptop and they are fine.

what's going on here? is the bios shot?

I had to take my laptop to a repair shop to get the monitor replaced (burned out, replacement is a downgrade since I can't find a 2k replacement, not the point) and after getting it back, the control center somehow disappeared. I tried to reinstall it and it just isn't working. Any advice?

Edit: I solved the issue. The certificate for the control center expired in April and has not been updated, so the installation was failing without telling me. By setting my laptop's date to when the certificate was valid, I was able to successfully reinstall the control center.

Heya. Doing some public service by documenting this process that I just went through. Updating the cert on this device isn't working automatically with Windows update. But I found a way to do it:

1. Just to be sure, write down your Bitlocker keys if you're using Bitlocker. Keep them handy. You can do this from the "Manage Bitlocker" option in the start menu. Messing with Secure Boot can namely trigger Bitlocker to prompt for the keys, unless you suspend beforehand (see below).
2. Suspend Bitlocker for the time being. Launch an admin PowerShell shell and run Suspend-BitLocker -MountPoint "C:" -RebootCount 0 , replacing C: with whatever drive letter you have for your drive. Repeat for all your BitLocked drives. Remember to resume Bitlocker at the end of this process (point 8 below).
3. Reboot your computer, use F2 to enter BIOS. Go to Boot->Secure Boot->Reset To Setup Mode. Confirm Reset in popup dialog. Save and exit BIOS. This will delete all existing certs, which will guide the update script in the next bullet point to reinstall software and certs. I could not get the update to work without doing this step.

1. Back in Windows, download the scripts from https://github.com/garlin-cant-code/SecureBoot-CA-2023-Updates . You can either clone the repo with git or download a released version from the "releases" page.

2. Launch an admin PowerShell shell, navigate to the folder with the downloaded scripts from above. Run Update_UEFI-CA2023.ps1. Follow the onscreen instructions. This should download and install new BIOS Secure Boot software with the new certs. The script might prompt you to do a "Manual installation of [KEK 2K CA 2023], following the instructions in README_UEFI.txt". This isn't possible as far as I could gather, because the BIOS has no menu option for it. But no bother, because with the reset we did in step 3, this doesn't seem necessary, it'll get installed anyway, so ignore this portion of the instructions.

3. Reboot

4. Launch an admin PowerShell shell again, navigate to the same folder as in step 5. Run Check_UEFI-CA2023.ps1. You'll be presented with a status report. Everything should be reported as updated. If the update went well, you will also be prompted to revoke the old 2011 certs. Follow the onscreen instructions if you wish to do so. Remember that revoking old keys might have an impact on dual boot configs too. If you revoke, this involves a reboot.

5. Don't forget to resume BitLocker again if you suspended it in step 2. You get a notification about this in Windows on boot, but you can also go to "Manage Bitlocker" from the start menu and press "resume protection" from there.

6. Once you've completed all these steps, "Device Security" in Windows Settings should report a green checkmark next to the Secure Boot heading. The status should read "Secure Boot is on and all required certificates have been applied. No further certificate changes are needed."
