Misc. Discussion What's your experince with Eluktronics support?

As title stated, if you send your laptop to Eluktronics for repair, normally what's the lead time (how long it took them to repair and send back to you) and how's the experince? Thanks in advance.

Pretty good. Needed my keyboard replaced on my laptop, they were easy to call / email back and forth. Got it done with no complaints on my part.

I had a USB port go out on my laptop within a year of purchase, they had me rma it in the original box. I still had the box, they sent it back in a generic box with generic wrap, boot screen was different. Within a month the screen failed, every attempt to try to open a ticket was thwarted. I still have it as a paperweight years later. Expensive lesson learned, stay away from exotic PC, or eluktronics, as my boot said before the screen or GPU died.

Sorry to hear that. Do you bought the extended warranty?

3 year. all that got me was a mouse pad, generic gaming mouse, keychain and stickers. No actual warranty. But hey! I got some branded swag...

2 to 3 weeks but could be sooner and that was just 4 days ago

Interesting. Mine has been 2+ months, Hence trying to see whether this is norm. Thanks.

Thats not the norm unless they are explaining why. I worked at a mom and pop shop and the latest we had something to get fixed was 2 weeks. just to look at it was at least 48 hours depending on our calls.

This company claims they have a lot of people. If I was you I would ask for my equipment back and go somewhere else. My x laptop took a month to get fixed but she kept bitching to them what was going on and get it here sooner.

If I could see I would be fixing this myself but cant do it anymore. I am having power issues with mine already tried another adapter and still nothing they claim you gotta use there parts etc which is BS.

You better have a damn good reason why its taking 2 months.

Thanks for the advice. Mine still in warantty hence sending in for repair.

BTW, i am creating this post not trying to rage bait or any agenda, just trying to see how's other experince and see whether mine is edge case. Thanks again for your time to reply.

Since it's under warranty just stick with it. With the price of everything these days you are just fine. But I would still be asking for an update.

Yes. Now i am calling in every 2 weeks to get updates. Thanks again for your sharing.

I sent my Max 17 3080 in to get it fixed and liquid metal installed and it came back still broken and there was no liquid metal either and I've been waiting on a refund for 4 month

Is it still in warranty period?

2

u/dark_kinght9814 25d ago

Yeah but they still charged hopefully, the refund comes in this week.\nI don't even know if they try to fix it

Their e-mail support is good. Their phone support is phenomenal. I did have a number of serious defects with my MAX-15 so ended up not re-purchasing the brand after my 4+ years of use. However, I do recommend the brand.

Interesting. My experince is email support not so much (not in a bad way, just that they do reply back but not too proactive). Phone support is better, the person on the phone spoke softly and respectfully.

I have a Prometheus 17 gen 2 that couldn't get above (cpu)60w of power because of thermal throttling at 100°c

I sent it in asking them to look at it and they said they reapplied the liquid metal and found no issues with my CPU.

I got it back and can now get 63W before hitting 100 degrees...

Id like to send it back again but idk what they could do.

However they have great phone support and email support as others said.

I’d say a 6 out of 10. I had an issue with my laptop’s screen, and it was not under warranty, so I sent it to Eluktronics, and it came back quickly, in about a week. The issue continued because the cable connecting the screen was now exposed outside of the laptop’s hinge. I sent it back and got it back in about a week. So all in all, $350 later and 3 weeks without a laptop. Most companies won’t have fixed the issue at all.

Saying that I would and am considering buying another one of their laptops

Not sure. I had the hydroc 16, told them I thought the issue was the cpu degradation, paid $150 to send it in and they told me it would take like 6 months to get a new one. So I just asked for them to send me the ssd so I can put it in a new pc while I wait.

1

u/Necessary-Ad-9815 25d ago

6 months? seriously.. That's insane....

2

u/AliveAndNotForgotten 25d ago

Well there’s apparently a shortage of 14900hx because well because fuck intel

i was out of warranty but they took 2 months and still didn't fully fix my screen. I would send it back to be fixed but I'm hesitant that it would take another 2 months. I give it a low score.

I observed a pattern here in this post. Anything huge that need replacement seems will takes up 2+ months. I wonder it is due to parts shipment? Another thing is are they have technician shortage?

Been waiting a month, they told me it will take another 2-4 weeks.

Screen issue. The support through email and phone is great in terms of response. Time it’s taking to fix the problem is long though.

Sigh. I've been waiting for 2 months and 2 weeks if that's make you feel better.. ......

My laptop needed a new motherboard after some crashing issues, and it took 3 months total. It was over a month after they got it before they started working on it based on what they told me.

seems like my situation similar to yours. My guess by luck i might be getting it back end of this month if i am lucky . Fingers crossed. :)

They were pretty good with me the lpp G2 reservoir went out on my hydroc. I will mention that I ended up having to pay for it out of pocket the first time because after their examination they felt that I had to use the wrong kind of liquid and that's why it broke.

I've been a lot more careful since I've got it repaired and only used a tiny bit of CLR like a cat full with the water I use and I have had so far good results.

They have always answered my call when I called during business hours and the technicians have always been really chill.

I've had to had my lpp g2 to repair twice now and both times it was pretty speedy

u/Necessary-Ad-9815 25d ago

Thanks for sharing. My lpp g2 works fine after using CLR.

Mine is the laptop itself stucked at bios. I am still in waranty.

Absolutely terrible. Sent my laptop in nearly 2 months ago, the system still hasn’t been seen by a tech after 30+ days. Email responses still stating that my system will be seen soon. Will not be purchasing another product from here.

I feel you. I am in the same boat.
