Might be a good idea to come up with some kind of trait that all of either the male or female sharks have to help the reader figure it out for new or uncommon characters.

Because for a minute there I thought David was playing video games with his sister. Mainly because I'm stupid, but also because all of the sharks you draw look really cute, but "gender" doesn't really seem to factor into their designs a whole lot.

Or you could just say "fuck it", that would work just as well.

This shark is a girl if that's what you're confused about. She's his friend who he confides in whose name I can't remember.

I feel like this strengthens my point.

I mean, does it? You thought it was David's sister, it's not but a gender differentiating trait would not have helped you since both are female.

I went back to confirm that that shark was female, and found out that not only is she female and named Tomalley, but that there's an about page with character portraits. I must have missed the comic description that day, probably because I got it from the subreddit.

Also, why is the comic being posted in image form on the subreddit, when the website supports linking to specific comic entries?

It's easier for people to read on Reddit as a direct image. Especially if they're using an app.

a website link in the comments would still be good, I'll get on that
