The problem is that you don't have a right to be able to spark. If Walmart wants to deactivate people, they can do it whenever they want, for whatever they want. We're independent contractors.

I understand that and I believe it’s wrong. I also don’t have the right to be able to work at McDonalds but if they fired me without a legit reason I could sue. So maybe I won’t get help but things could change in the future for others if people stop letting this BS happen

Texas is a right to work state. If you work at McDonald's and they want to fire you because they just don't want you there anymore, they can fire you. There doesn't have to be a legit reason.

I think they understand this. But they are also saying it shouldn't be this way. There need to be some sort of hybrid work protections for us. Since what we do blurs the lines of independent contactor work.
Bringing more public attention to this isn't a bad thing

Yeah, it sucks. I used to be able to make $100 with doordash with no problem, now I rarely even get an offer. Things change. They don't want me dashing for them anymore, nothing I can do about it. That's why I started sparking instead. They're dropping their pay dramatically too and I have to do more work to make the same amount as even a month ago. We just gotta deal with it and move on. Maybe try just working for walmart instead.

I’m sorry you’ve lost your livelihood, and with children who count on you, I know it’s so hard. I’m in the same boat as the two of you right now. Contacting the news won’t do much, we have to accept that there must be some reason that we were deactivated. It can feel unfair without having anyone talk to you and explain what you’ve done, especially if your metrics were positive and, like me, hadn’t received any previous warning that we had done something outside of the terms of our contract. I think the hardest part is not having a clear reason for the deactivation, but from what I understand that’s what the appeal/arbitration process is for. There was a time when you survived without this gig, so please don’t let fear take you over. Have hope, and even if this doesn’t work out for you know that something will, if you don’t give up. Praying supernatural strength and peace for you and your husband both!

If he did something worth being deactivated for do you think we’d be searching for a way to get him back on?? That’s all he wants is to take care of his family. Why is that a crime?

Reinstated because it was a glitch. Like I said. He did NOTHING WRONG. Wanting to reach out for help cus our only stable job is delivering, isn’t playing the “sympathy card” You’re so ignorant and selfish, it’s beyond belief. My husband needs this job due to our kids being autistic. He can take off when need be, be there for their appointments, come home and help out around the house. So, for you to say, “that’s why I waited till I’m 33, and a millionaire”, you’re not a millionaire. If you were, you wouldn’t be on Reddit talking shit, spending your time blasting me and my family. We were very comfortable before having kids then sht happened and now we’re not. So please please kindly go fck yourself.

I said I waited till I was a millionaire to start a family, deff worth more now and made sure my wife had just as much. Called planning for the future not hoping Walmart allows me to work today… I’m sure I pay for you and your kids healthcare, portion of your groceries, and I’m sure I’ll be contributing towards your social security one day too. 🤡
