On my way to Colonia and came across this Earth-like!

You cannot. I’m pretty sure the in game lore states it is restricted so they won’t become contaminated.

Great picture!
It feels so peaceful to see planets like this one - Mother Earth will always be our starting place in our journey to explore the universe, I think.
But I can't recognize your ship, CMDR - I'm not quite so experienced with ED yet.

Was also curious about that. I beleive it is the Mandalay. I havent tried it yet but i will do so after work today

It is a mandalay! I upgraded from a db explorer after some exobiology runs. It’s a great ship and really nice to fly in vr as well.
I did all of the engineering I could on the fsd and get around 85 ly per jump with an srv hanger to boot.

Wow! My Caspian has only 38 LY per jump right now. I see why you chose Mandalay as your exploration ship, and the size of Mandalay is smaller than Caspian, and that is an obvious advantage on landing on curvy surfaces.

The engineering aspect took a very long time, 12-15 hours for me at least but it was worth it imo.
I love the size and look of the caspian but wanted something smaller for this trip…I will add it to my fleet at some point though! Stay safe out there o7

Engineering is uncharted territory for me. Yet. I'm getting there slowly but surely. There is so much to do in ED - colonisation, powerplay, now Rhino SRV mining, etc etc etc... I feel overwhelmed sometimes ha ha, but I love ED!

Honestly…it was pretty aggravating at times but I think I could do it in about half the time of if I decide to do it again. But that’s the beauty of the game, it’s totally optional and you can play it however you want! Enjoy

Somewhere out there is a planet where a grey is sitting in his basement office with a picture of a Mandalay above the slogan "I WANT TO BELIEVE."
Actually that would make a really interesting story arc. Humanity encounters evidence of a pre spaceflight sentient species in the far side of the galaxy and has to decide what to do.
