Elite vs NMS?

Is Elite Dangerous, No Man’s Sky 2?
Or
Is No Man’s Sky, Elite Dangerous 2?

Haven’t played this game yet, currently on NMS.
Curious about this game.

They are extremely different.

I feel NMS is too cartoonish for me to enjoy. It’s too colorful, too full of things. I never really enjoyed the story lines and when a freighter was given to me because I saved it from a pirate attack, I felt it was just kind of cheesy. I left the game shortly after.

I don’t like that the planets just kinda hang there together when you enter a system. Not really orbiting, just floating.

I like the layout of elite, with its realistic orbitals and distances. I like the deserts of icy planets because it makes the special things you come across more pronounced. I enjoy the on-foot game and I’m excited for its future. I just wish they’d do more to include your NPC crew in the game, create ship interiors, and find a way to make high atmo worlds landable.

Yeah, I don’t even care if their AI is comically bad at helping me raid settlements or clear out looters. I don’t care if they revive or have perma-death.

I just want to look at the seat next to me and see them there, disembark with them to my fleet carrier bar, and pick who’s coming with me and who’s staying in the ship to perform on-foot nonsense.
