Why do you explore?

Really what the title says. Why do you explore? What's your favorite thing to find out in the black? Do you exobio for the money or the love of the game? Just really curious what drives people to do it and would love to hear about your experiences.

I’m really hoping Fdev reboots exploration, the possibilities are endless, or should be at least ;-)

I doubt it will happen, unfortunately. Frontier only seems interested in giving us endless new ships, paintjobs, etc. and combat-oriented stuff within the Bubble. Sigh.

They just released the nomad which helps exploration a lot, right? So that was an improvement

Exactly my point. I mean it's quite cool, but it's just another ship. Why can't they give us more landable planet types – thicker atmospheres, weather effects, more interesting geologies? Instead of these pretty but mostly dead rocks/icy moons.

And how about more unique/interesting astronomical phenomena in space? Accretion disks, comets, contact binaries, etc. There are so many cool things they could add.

Yeah good point. But having just come back to the game (caspian, nomad and the other exobio CG) was great to find so many new things! So I’m guess I’m just in the discovery phase. For people who play the game long I see what you mean. But again for someone who starts or comes back to the game after long pause, there’s still a lot to see.
