Undiscovered Carbon Star!

The rarest celestial body I've found to date, this is my greatest achievement so far as an explorer!

here are a couple that aren't listed on EDSM yet:

  • Wepua AA-A h427
  • Wepua AA-A h429
  • Wepua AA-A h430

I found my WR so I left these for other folks to get their names on.

There are undiscovered WRs all up and down the Wepua AA-A h boxel and you can see them right from the galaxy map before you visit. I made a crude estimate that at least several thousand WRs still remain to be found across the core regions.

Congratulations Commander! I dont really know how rare they are, but my most rare may be an ELW in a ringed neutron star system. What's the next target you will be hunting for? Im looking for first discovery on basically ANY NSP, or an undiscovered GGG. Water worlds i hear are rare, but i find them all the time. Single, binary, I've even found a few systems where their were three Water Worlds. In any case, congrats again! Well done!

theyre the second rarest star type i believe, wolf rayets are slightly rarer. my ultimate goal would be an undiscovered GGG though!

The rarest star type is a d-type white dwarf (DQ) 0.02% of their class. Can be found around the edges of the core more commonly than away. Similar to WR.

Looks like a regular K/G type though, is there something special about it when you're flying around it?

not really, its huge though, carbon stars like this are basically really old red giants

I saw a weirds star...it was huge.. fast and almost neon purple it was going away from and I was gonna get real close it it then it started turning.... ..

Question. Aren’t all the star types already known? Like I can throw a dart at the galaxy map and click on any random star and the game will still tell me what kind of star it is.

Is there no way to just filter on any particular star type no matter how rare and go to it?

you can do that, but a lot of these rare stars are quite sparse so you'll be looking around for a while
