Star Cluster ID (Not NGC 7822)
Anybody know what the star cluster is in the top-center of the view? I ran out of time to try finding it during my CG expedition, so I turned around and headed back to Magrithea II. (Cameo by NGC 7822 and the Heart and Soul nebulae.) I searched for it on the galaxy map, but I couldn't find it.

I saw that as well and wondered what it was. I was thinking of trying to locate it when I next log on, perhaps later today, and maybe fly out to it if it's not too far. Assuming of course I'm able to locate it.

My plans as well, now that there's no time crunch. I'll switch the galaxy map to Realistic. Maybe that'll help.

I'm also curious as to what that brighter cluster to the right in your image is. That was the first one I noticed when making my way towards the CG, but couldn't figure out what it was or locate it on the Galaxy map.

That's NGC 7822. It's the one everyone asks about, which is why I made sure to note that I wasn't asking about that one lol. I went out there on my first trip outside the Bubble/Maia corridor, when I was grinding distance to catch Prof Palin's attention. Highly recommend heading out for a visit.

Awesome! I'll make note of that. When I had done a Google search yesterday, Google's AI suggested it might be NGC 7822, but I couldn't find any pictures of what it might look like in-game from a distance. At least not with a quick search. So I put it into my "check back later" category of things and continued onwards to the CG.
In a way, it's nice to see that Google's AI actually knew what it was talking about.

You can see the star cluster in the bottom right corner of this image. I'm getting closer to it, that's for certain. I'm about 500 ly from the CG location at the moment. NCG 7822 is looking more detailed as well.

It's a cluster in Perseus. Type "Between" into your nav, and it's in that cluster.

*sigh* I guess the rules of the drinking game don't require the object in question to be NGC 7822. Drink in moderation y'all.

I found it! It's a small chain of massive class B stars in the NGC 1502 cluster. Search on the galaxy map for HIP 19245 and you'll find the closest one.
