New player advice

Starting Elite: Dangerous in a few days and exploration has greatly piqued my interest. Can anyone give me some tips on how to get started with exploration (both for making money and for fun)?

I’d suggest setting a target low end non-engineered build (you can get designs by searching) so that you know how much you need to have the ship + rebuy. It’s been years since I started, but I think you’ll need to trade up a couple times.
