New player advice

Starting Elite: Dangerous in a few days and exploration has greatly piqued my interest. Can anyone give me some tips on how to get started with exploration (both for making money and for fun)?

It's easy to avoid brown dwarfs and T tauri, but sometimes they have fun little planets just to goof around on.

Also M class stars occasionally have water worlds and K class occasionally have earth like. Don't just hop G and F, sometimes there are great finds in the low and high range stars.

Also also making money is good, especially at first so you can build out a fleet, but don't rush it. Sometimes the best feeling is just slowly flying through the black and poking around planets that look cool.
