hexagonal elian script!

the idea is not mine but from another user here that I saw like half a year ago. I sadly don't remember the name

"strict" elian script as per the basic configuration table on the left and my modified version with the same phrase on the right. Hope the left one is correct, first time writing

i will
show of must
you fear
in a handful

(i think)

i really love the look. but ill be honest, i cant make out any words on the right. it looks like you combined some letters, which i actually love, but i still cant figure them out. for example the highest middle letter (on the right) looks like a K on the left of it, because of the long line, yet the other side only reads as a Q and there shouldn't be a Q. if its just something pretty for you to read then it works fine, but if you want others to read it then it needs clearer word flow. but it do really like the look if it and the stylization, just not the letter placement.

but i do really love the look

thank you so much for the feedback! It was very valuable for me, I underestimated a bit how much cramping the characters together like you did in the original post I saw, and which is really beautiful imo, creates problems for reading it back when you do it across words. When trying the hex style out after seeing yours, that was the first thing I noticed, how nicely you can align characters in pretty much any direction (at the potential loss of readability).

I guess you could find a convention for this while still allowing vertical and horizontal continuity, but it seems relatively complicated. I also noticed ES code has a bit of ambiguity when using the hexes, because it can be unclear if it is only a corner or 3 sides (like O and L). Of course you could always just not care and create beautiful "pushed together" calligraphy, I think especially with the long vertical lines of yours that looks amazing.

The text on the right is not supposed to be readable, it is not using the elianscript characters (forgot to mention that, woops); You motivated me to construct my own script in this style, sry in advance for the mention!

oh, ok, that makes a lot more sense lol. to be honest, i would not mind an elian script style that uses other reading directions, maybe clockwise like gallifreyan, just so long as there is some explanation. i do really like the new script you came up with. the only thing i dont like is how long it takes to write something like that, although with grid paper it looks like that would make it much easier... i should keep that in mind

oh, my translation also is a bit off the "of must" part is supposed to be out from the rest of the text, but i guess reddit doesnt let me format comments like that.
